Hi,

On one of our nights at Epcot we have an ADR for Coral Reef at 8:10 PM. Does anybody know is there some "magic" way to increase our chances of getting a good table next to the aquarium or a good aquarium view? Does arriving early for your ADR and requesting a specific table increase your chances?

Thanks!

- Chris

I would not describe being next to the aquarium as being a "good" view. That close to the tanks actually limits what you can see; you see what comes next to the table, meaning your miss the other 80% of the action in the tank. The aquarium is a full wall and goes floor to ceiling. We sat in the middle level in the middle right hand side of the restaurant and thought we had a good view of the tank. Because of the use of heights and the curved nature of the seating area I think CR is full of good seats. If you want to be seated next to the tank ask when you check in; they will either seat you, tell you no availability or tell you it will be an extended wait to get there.

DH and i always used to get seating right against the aquarium (as well as the first available seating time) - but as the septbaby said, there are better views (more "panorama") when you're seated even one tier up - you can then see all of the windows of the aquarium that way!

We were at the Coral Reef on 12/8 for an 8:15 ADR and they gave us a table for two next to the aquarium. We didn't ask for it but really enjoyed it. I think that the detail that you get when you're next to the glass kind of evens out the fact that you don't get the panorama effect. We'd love to have that table again.
BTW, our server, Linda, was excellent. We will definitely ask for her when we go back. The food was very good too. We had the lobster bisque (like velvet) and the grouper with mushroom/scallop risotto. We joked about it as the grouper in the tank kept swimming by us as we ate. He was an impressive fish and didn't have to worry about being anyone's dinner.

We just ask for it. Sometimes we have to wait a couple extra minutes, but it's worth it! They're really great about accommodating guests.

If you are a party of two, your chances for getting a table right by the aquarium is pretty high. That is where all of their smaller tables are. Only bigger parties sit in the back. I wouldn't be concerned.

You could also let them know when you check in what table you'd like. You might have to wait a bit longer, but they will usually accomodate you.

All tables have a good view, and tables next to the aquarium would be the worst seat in the house, IMO, as you only see the few feet right in front of your face and not the entire aquarium.
