Cor or POR?

I'm planning on taking my youngest son (8) to WDW at the end of August. (Mom and me trip) Right now I'm planning to book at POP Century for that time, but just in case some great codes come up (anxiously awaiting!!) for that time period I want to have a moderate resort all picked out. At first he and I were set on Coronado (he loved the idea of Mexican/Southwest theme and loved the pics of the pool); however, lately I've been more interested in POR. Which do you think would be the better choice us?

I am soooo much more excited then he seems to be! Is this normal?

I haven't stayed at the POR, but the CSR is beautiful and the main pool area is impossible not to like. The slide is a lot of fun and I'm sure your son would like it, if you happen to stay there.

As far as being more excited than your son, it happens. I don't think my parents were ever more excited than I was when we took family trips to WDW, but as an adult now, I have a greater appreciation for WDW than I did when i was a child. Have a great time!

I've never been to POR but I would have to say CSR. It's gorgeous there and anyone will love their pool. Plus it is more tropically themed in some areas and isn't that what Floridia is all about?!

I have stayed at both and I am in the minority when I say I would never return to POR, absolutely hated it. CSR I loved! and the pool great. I would go there.

Thank you for the advice. I have to say that i am surprised that CSR has won the vote so far. I've been reading so much about how everyone just LOVED POR. Back in 99' I was booked at Dixie Landings, but then I got a GREAT rate for the Yacht Club and of course went there. (Best hotel pool in the world....I mean the whole world...not just THE WORLD... ). I was a little sad about not going to DIXIE though because I had gotten psyched about going there. Maybe that's why I'm wavering now....

Part of me is wondering if both hotels are more for adults...and if I should just stick with POP because my 8 y/o will really like it the best. Well, I guess nobody can really feel sorry for me because I'm having a hard time deciding on which Disney hotel...
