I suppose that you could purchase a standalone DVD recorder and hook it up to a VCR to accomplish the copy. That's the easiest way to do the copy.
The alternative is to purchase a video capture card for your PC and use it to copy the VHS tapes to your PC. You would then have to edit the files on your PC and then burn them to a DVD.
I have used my PC to capture some video but I have not been too satisfied with the results. Perhaps a video stabilizer between the VCR and the computer might improve the picture quality.
Either way, it is a very time consuming task.
