Anybody else wish that CCV didn't separate room types -- walk in shower and tub? We currently have a 3 and 9 night split stay between the two room types. Last night I was successful in getting the middle night of the 3 night portion in the other room type so have two single night waitlists setup, but it sure would be easier and I feel like increase availability in terms of consecutive nights if they didn't separate them out.

I get why they do it since some people need a tub and some may not be able to use a tub, but it makes for a lot more work and luck in order to get that consecutive night stay.

It's no different than BLT's or BWV's three different studio types. That's just the way that the resorts are set up. Personally, I'm glad that these two studio types are booking categories at CCV. Families with small kids would be very unhappy if they were to be assigned a studio with walk-in shower. This guarantees them that they will have a tub.

It may also be how they retrofitted to existing rooms that were there before since it was regular WL rooms??? Just a guess

I would compare the CCV studios more to OKW studios as they are the same point costs when booking Near Hospitality House and not. Different booking categories but the same cost. I believe the 3 different types at BLT and BWV are different point costs but I could be wrong?

I disagree. BLT has different views and are different number of points. BWV is similar in that 2 of the 3 have the same number of points.

I understand why there are different room types, I just wish they could be booked in one category.

Point requirements aside, it still makes a difference when it comes to trying to string together a reservation at one resort. When you have different booking categories and a very limited number of rooms in each category, it can be hard to get all of your nights in the same type of studio.

Yes, that is correct and what I was saying. When the rooms don't have different views and are the same number of points it is frustrating. Hence why I wish they were all the same room type.

Having one category when the bathroom setup is so different would cause a lot of grief for front desk CMs. At least people know before they arrive that they're getting a tub or just a walk-in shower because they chose it when they booked. It's the same reason that there is a boardwalk view and a pool/garden view at BWV. Too many people got upset when they were assigned a p/g view because they wanted to see the boardwalk from their balcony.

Again, I wasn't arguing the validity of multiple room types which is why I stated "I get why they do it since some people need a tub and some may not be able to use a tub".

I was simply expressing an opinion that I wished it was one room type. Then I could stop trying to piece the beginning of our trip together. We are saying the same thing.

I definitely agree with you that it is very frustrating esp for non owners at 7 months!!
If I remember correctly it used to be 1 category but then people complained when they did not get a tub so they divided into two hence causing booking frustration.

Again I maybe wrong about that as I have already been wrong today in the prior post and I am sure it won't be the last time today either!! :)

I actually like the separate booking types as I prefer the walk in shower AND it gets you off of the ground floor (which is where nearly all of the studios with tubs are located). I do understand the headache of trying to piece together a reservation of studios at CCV.

I believe it has been separate since day 1 of CCV. I bought in Spring 2017 before it opened and my first reservation had the option of choosing either studio.

I don't own at CCV but I thought that I had read somewhere. Thanks for letting us know. :)

Since you are an owner that certainly helps you get what you want, as it should!! It just gets very frustrating for us non owners at the 7 month window to get a reservation in the same room type type as I believe kes601 was implying.

I don't mind split stays but it is certainly annoying when you are booking a studio and having to switch to a shower room to a tub shower room to make it work as I believe kes601 was implying.

This is definitely one of the arguments for buying where you want to stay!!!

Yes, it’s more of an annoyance than anything at the 7 month booking window. We opted for SSR over CCV when we bought direct because it sounded like even at 11 months a studio wasn’t guaranteed at CCV.

Currently we have 3 nights in the walk in shower room and 9 nights in the tub room. I also snagged the tub room for the middle night of those 3 nights. Hopefully my two single night waitlists come through and we can be in the same room the entire time. We have to move right after a Christmas After Hours so that is not ideal….

If nothing else you can enjoy the lobby while waiting as it is always great at Christmas

I understand where you are coming from. I have an 8 night stay strung together in a walk in shower category.. with one night in the middle in the tub category and just keep hoping for one to pop in to make it whole 🤞
