We are hoping to modify part of our December stay to a CCV cabin!
Sounds wonderful, and I hope to do the same in a couple of years. But we expect to have our DD's family with us, including their daughter who might still be "napping age" then. So I was wondering whether there's a way to turn down the volume or turn off the resort theme music during the day and the fireworks music at night, in case the toddler needs to sleep? We had a TON of points in 2020 because we had to cancel a Covid stay, and we did it before they had their ducks in a row at DVC, so they gave us all our points back, and banked points that shouldn’t have been banked, etc. So, anyway- we had tons of points, and I wasn’t super pumped to travel yet in the spring of 2023. The cabins seemed like a great compromise, because we had all these use them or lose them points, and I didn’t want a super long stay. We booked four nights.
it was fantastic! my favorite thing, by far, was to just sit on the porch. They stream in the music during the fireworks, but they also stream the resort theme music loop The rest of the day. It’s relaxing and lovely. Also, it’s a bunch of songs from movies in the 90’s like Little Women and Legends of the Fall that I remember from being a 90’s kid/teen. I am not sure I ever even sat on the couch in the unit. It was just lovely! we could not see the fireworks, and we didn’t have a great view of the water pageant, we were in #11 but we still loved it!
Oh yes, you can turn it down or up Or off. It only plays in the screened in porch area, and it was at a low, background music type volume.Sounds wonderful, and I hope to do the same in a couple of years. Net net, I don't think you'd regret it. It was a splurge for us (we rent points) but still worth it. We dream about it still...That's nice to hear! I was actually leaning away from staying there lately because of the points. I'm borrowing ahead for this trip to begin with and a cabin for 2 nights would pretty much wipe out our next year's points (but we could keep borrowing ahead, lol). Wasn't sure if it was worth it but I have a feeling it would be a core memory for my family too. Will be continuing to think about this!
what cabin number ,so you saw fireworks and elecric light parade from same cabin? We stayed in them last year in January and loved it! Having the private hot tub was amazing and yes we could see the MK fireworks w/ the audio piped in (some of this might depend on which cabin you get...we were on the side by the boat launch). We also could see the electrical boat parade which was pretty cool. We own at CCV, however, they are not that difficult to book at 7 months for most times of year. Early December though is especially difficult at Copper Creek because of the point charts and the Christmas decorations, so I would recommend getting on right at 7 months if that is when you want them.

After our first 3 nights at a cabin my daughter and I did the same thing - we bought a resale contract that allowed us to combine points with another resale contract we have, get a week trip in 2024 and 2025 and then every two years thereafter. This is a no park trip for us - we just enjoy the cabin - and maybe do a bit of work "remotely".We absolutely loved staying at the cabins last year and thankfully was able to get one for our December trip this year. My husband has actually purchased resale contracts to specifically stay there every year. He converts the points to "how many nights can we stay at the cabin."![]()
Depends on which cabin number - there is parking on both sides of the lodge - one is down a service road and the 2nd is straight ahead as you exit the main parking lot - the maps of the resort show the special parking areas - they have a gate and your keycard or magic band should open the gate. Didn't work a couple times for me and there is a button to push to talk to someone. It is nice having parking closer for sure. The lots are small and would fill up but we never had a problem getting a space. We’re staying for 3 nights in October. I didn’t realize the cabins have their own parking, where is that compared to the parking by the lobby?
Ok thanks!! We had a bunch of points that had to be used by November, so our first time too!Depends on which cabin number - there is parking on both sides of the lodge - one is down a service road and the 2nd is straight ahead as you exit the main parking lot - the maps of the resort show the special parking areas - they have a gate and your keycard or magic band should open the gate.
