With all the talk that once Stitch openned, CoP would close, perhaps forever....which do you prefer? Which is more "Disney" to you?

I had the chance to see both on the same day, first Stitch, then Cop. In my humble opinion, Stitch was a sorry attraction, that did not meet "Disney" expectations.
To me/us, this was made particularly true having then gone to see CoP......what a difference!!!
CoP had a wonderful story-line, something you could follow...and it resonnated with my parents, my spouse, and my kids.
No-one felt the same watching Stitch's Escape.
We all agreed that there was a weak story and little humor in what could have been a great attraction if the bean-counters had let the imagineers have their way with this.

What do you think?
Should WDW close CoP, because Stitch is now open?

I think a big part of the equation is popularity. I love CoP. It is one of my top attractions in all of WDW. However, I have often seen it with very short lines and been in 3/4 empty theatres. Add this with its age and likely high maintenace cost and I could see why CoP would be shuttered with Stitch opening. Hopefully, if it is permanently closed, it will be replaced with something of a similiar enjoyable element. I thought the Stitch ride was quite disappointing.

CoP forever! Through some strange luck, my mom has always been with us on trips when the Hall of Presidents has been closed. Last summer, she finally got to see HoP and was a little disappointed, having only ever seen film from the 1980's souvenir video "The Magic of Walt Disney World". In the video, President Lincoln has a bigger speaking part. Even considering the updates, she was very happy to finally see HoP.

Now our family can be obsessed with seeing CoP when it is open. Personally, I think it only gets better with age.

Sorry, but what is CoP? I cannot find the abbreviations list anywhere!

:cheer2: I have not seen Stitch yet, but from what I have seen here. I would go with CoP. I just love it, my family does too. :wizard:

Carousel of Progress.

Don't get me wrong, I love Stitch, but I don't love Stitch's Great Escape. There's so much Disney could've done with a Stitch Attraction, but instead they chose a Stitch-dressed Alien Encounter.

I chose the CoP because it's the only attraction Walt wanted to stay in a Disney park as long as they stood, and because Walt himself made it!

CoP absolutely. It is a classic Disney attraction. Great story, great characters, great music. Stitch is just a cheap refit of a show that wasn't great to begin with. It isn't family friendly since younger guests may be too scared to do it - a lot of older guests don't like it either.

I vote to ditch Stitch. Personally, I wasn't even that big a fan of the movie to be honest. Disney has done far better.

I haven't seen Stich yet but if they permently got rid of CoP I would cry.

I love CoP it is one of may top 5 attractions at WDW. It would be a great loss if they got rid of it.

Tinkerbee,
I just have to laugh at your tag add my own story which is COP related!
We recently returned from a great trip to WDW and my family's first opportunity to see COP. Well we saw all 4 scenes but then there was a technical problem with the moving seats (but not with the animation or sound) so we were stuck seeing the final scene 4 additional times before exiting through the emergency exit (even though the taped voice said to stay seated). For the rest of the trip, every time we were stopped temporarily (probably to load or unload wheelchair visitors) the whole family would burst into a verse of "it's a great big beautiful tomorrow..."

I can feel your pain with Small World!
