We were in the MK last weekend and rode COP twice...I had not been on COP recently due to it being closed most of the time. Both DH and I noticed right away that in the opening scene the main characters hair was messed up, second scene was the same hair sticking out all over, looked out of style for the era. In the 1940s scene his hair looked awful, like a doll with uncombed hair.

I know they change outfits on the characters sometimes, maybe someone did not fix his hair afterwards, just wonder if anyone else has noticed his hair looking so bad..:)

Did you take any pictures of it? The messed up hair, that is...

LOL! Ya know, we finally were able to take the kids on this in January, when it was open. I thought they may roll their eyes at it, but it turned out to be one of their favorites! Hope it is still open inSeptember - and I hope they comb the poor bum's hair!

When I read the title of this thread I thought you saw a POLICE OFFICER having a bad hair day! :)

Me too JESW!

I always liked COP and so does my DD. I don't know why it's gotten such a bad rap!

What I REALLY loved was the Home of the Future they used to show after Space Mountain! I thought it was SOOO COOL!

Sorry for my ignorance :( , but what is COP? I along with the other posters thought that you meant a police officer. :hyper:

By the way I love this board! I have been just reading the messages but now I have finally decided to join and post something!

COP has always been a family favorite for us. We sometimes are known to try to remember the theme song well after our trip.

Tiberius,

What do you mean, "we try to remember that song after our trip"? How do you get the dang blasted thing out of your head. Our kids sing it over and over and over. Then went they stop, I start singing!!! LOL!!!! It's kinda like that other little ditty that can annoy the heck out of you. JOIN IN EVERYONE "It's a small world after all...."

COP and IASW are two of my favorites at WDW!!!Wouldn't miss them on any trip, (althought we hear IASW will be down for rehab very soon!).

Come on everyone join in .... "It's a great big beautiful tommorrow...."

I LOVE WDW !!!!!!

I hope spelling is ok. Has anyone noticed the man on COP - the dad or whatever - doesn't seem to like his wife?

At one point, he says something like, "well I always say if you have to get married you should marry someone with a sense of humor."

Its really really funny. he seems a tad bitter - my husband and I looked at each other and laughed a lot at some of the mean digs he got in on his wife.

Evern our 8 yr old said, "gee, I don't think he wants to be married..."

"Now is the time, now is the best time, now is the best time of your life..." (original COP theme song)

Carousel of Progress was always a family favorite - probably because my grandfather liked DisneyWorld so much - and he had actually lived through all the eras represented. When we exited the attraction, he would tell family stories about memories triggered by the various appliances. Then my grandmother would describe how to make a lemon pie on a wood stove (without temperature gauges, you basically have to check it continuously)......

My 15 year old son like this attraction a lot (the 13 year old, not at all). I think he appreciates the history (technology) and sociology (clothing, dating) lessons. You can see his brain imagining life without video, television, portable music, etc....

There's a great big beautiful tomorrow,
Shining at the end of every day.
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow,
And tomorrow is just a dream away.
Man has a dream and that's the start.
He follows his dream in mind and heart.
And when it becomes a reality,
It's a dream come true for you and me.
So there's a great big beautiful tomorrow,
Shining at the end of every day.
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow,
Just a dream away.

Now how can you get this great song out of your head!
You will be singing it all weekend now

I never realized that it looked like a Police Officer was having a bad day hair day....:) I am so used to talking in DIS Lingo now..:)

No we did not take any photos in there, guess we should have, to show you all some really....bad hair....:)

I never realized before someone mentioned it, but he does not have much good to say about his wife, and have you noticed it is THE WIFE who is always working and he is always sitting...:) Unless you could call nuking the turkey at 900 degrees as being work.....:

Thanks Shelleybell  I'd almost gotten that song out of my mind!

My DS thought it was a hoot and still sings the song 2 months later!

It stopped several times on our visit and the crowd got very loopy, talking back to characters and singing along. We had to sit thru the last segment twice! LOL!:D

Let's see if I can get this right, at least most of it.

Now is the time
now is the best time
now is the best time of our lives
Life is a dream
live every minute
open your eyes
and watch how you live it
yesterdays memories will sparkle and gleam
tommorrow is still but a dream
right here and now
you've got it made
the worlds forward marching and your in the parade
now is the time
now is the best time
be it a time of joy or strife

ahhhh, I cannot remmeber the last 2 or 3 lines, it may come back to me and I will edit this post....

Last time I was there (11/03) they had Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow as the theme song, which if I remember correctly was used back in 1964 when the ride was in New York. I think they introduced Now Is The Time when GE stopped its sponsorship in the early 1990's.

actually, I think that Beautifull tomorrow was in New York, when it was put in Disney world and GE sponsored it, it was now is the time. Then, i think when GE stopped sponsoring it, they changed it back to beautifull tomorrow. When I was growing up it was always now is the time. I could be wrong tho.

COP has always been a favorite of mine since the first time I saw it in '75. Back then it had the "Now is the Time" song...but "It's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" has grown on me. It was open just a few weeks ago and I was thrilled to see it. Some of the seats were in bad shape and at one point the daughter was talking, but the lights didn't come on. I read this article a few weeks ago and if you're a COP fan, you'll enjoy it.

Magical Moments

I love this ride. I think it's DH's favorite. "Now is the Time" is the song I most connect with COP.

Hope it's open in June when we're there.
