Ok, I go to WDW every month, but this is the first time I really noticed hold bad the interior of COP is looking. Why? Because we took guests who had not been in 15 years, and COP was their favorite attraction previously.

They were amazed by the "oldness" of the attraction. Yes we know it's old but, they were amazed at the poor condition of the carpet and seats (I know they were working on this but they must not be done).

In the 50's scene the father's hair on his right side looked like he just got out of bed. I have NO idea what caused this but seriously, right now the guys looks like he has bed head.

The attraction is still nice and I think it HAS to stay, but, it is time for a MAJOR overhaul (though it likely will be removed before it ever gets one).

INstead of decade to decade, it should be century to century. Even many of the things in the "future" scene are old technology and technology not used in society (VR games never really took off, and talking ovens are not the rave these days).

They are replacing the carpet and seats on a rotating basis. When we were there in October the section we were in had new carpet and seats.
Unfortunately it sounds like you were in a section that has not been refurbished yet.
I noticed the dogs had been updated and working much better than when we were there in 2004. Haven't a clue about the hair. Perhaps a maintence person brushed the hair a little too hard. Who knows? Hopefully it can be easily fixed.I nope you enjoyed your visit.

When we were there several weeks ago, in one rotation the area to the right that's supposed to be dark until the daughter starts talking, was lit the whole time and we watched the scene change to the next one (can't remember if it was son or grandma), but we got to watch the smaller stage area rotate and the light stayed on as we moved to the next era.

When we were there last December the ceiling tiles needed replacing as they were stained from numerous leaks as well as worn carpet and seats. Even though the different scenes are outdated now we still enjoy this attraction. Just last week my oldest DS came out of his room singing "It's a great big beautiful tomorrow" to which he did receive strange looks from my DH and I because he hasn't been to MK since 2003 (his adolescent ideals dictated this was beneath him)...but oh well, at least he remembered something. ;)

We really like this one too. My 6yo calls it the "Ferris wheel of progress." Now wouldn't that be a cool ride? LOL
