Cooling mattress pad - or one that doesn't make you sweat!!

I have realized that our mattress pad is making me hot at night. For a few years I thought it was me. But when we went on the cruise I slept great - no sweating at all. They had an egg crate with a pad on top. Not sure of brand.

Can you recommend a mattress pad? Or at least what I need to be looking for? I'm guessing 100% cotton and no plastics or synthetic materials, right?

My son is a " hot sleeper" and for him we got a cheap egg crate topper at Walmart. It is foam and I due to his allergies, I put it on top of his mattress and then put a light weight, cotton, allergen protection cover on top and then his sheets. He loves it.
IMHO I would due a cheap foam one to try out and see if it helps before investing in something of better quality. Hopefully there will be others who ave purchased some better products and can give you a good review.

I am having the exact same problem! we just got a new mattress and I put a new mattress pad on it and was dying of the heat!! I took it off last night and slept fine, so I would love to hear anyone's recommendations too!

When we were looking at beds the "Sleep Number Store" had mattresses and pillows that were cooling using some sort of special fabric. You really could tell the difference when you lay down on tham. Too Expensive though.

However, as we were walking out of the store, I noticed a shelf that had sheets and pillow cases that were supposed to have the same cooling properties for sale. You might want to look in a local store and see if they have them there.

We have a memory foam mattress and it is insanely hot as well. Look forward to more responses.
