Coolest Disney Balloon Product ever!?!

We bought two of these last weekend. I could not have gotten out of the park without getting one because my 5 year old son saw them and said in a voice of incredible awe and wonder, "Mommy, those balloons are glowing!" I then asked him what color he wanted and he said "I don't care!" I asked him 3 times and all 3 times he stated that he didn't care what color it was, he just wanted one. The CM at Disneyland said the light would last awhile and that we could change the batteries in it when they went out. They also have an on and off switch. I don't usually spend money on balloons but the magic and wonder in DS's voice won me over.

umm, the lights last about 2 weeks i believe. Not unless the battery is bad.

Blowing those balloons are REALLY hard. the ears on the inside require a certain way to hold and release. Ive tried for about an hour trying to blow them up but i failed miserably. :'(

So what you're saying is, if we go to DL on the 27-28 and I buy 1 on the 28th, drive it home with us then I should be able to use it on the 8th for DDs bday balloon box? Because that would be really fun to put with the other balloons I want to have her open.....

What Beautiful balloons! I have a total soft spot for those type in general, I remember how amazing they were when I was a kid. Sadly, my son never has been into balloons much, this is the only one I remember buying him. Money well spent though for the enjoyment and the photo! Rofl.

I saw them last Friday & was like, "OMG THOSE ARE SO COOL!!!" I'm guessing they started selling them when they opened Nightastic bc I've never seen them before. I wanted to get one last Saturday, but noticed that they weren't selling them & figured they only sell them when the sun goes down. I still didn't get one bc I had to go to work. :( I still want my light up balloon!

hahaha, yes, they only go out at night since during the day, the heat expxands the balloon too much and they either get deformed or blow up.

They are selling like hot cakes, Disney didnt anticipate them selling like flies.

OMG are you serious?! My DDad said that whoever came up w/ the idea should get a gold star! :thumbsup2 lol. I mean, they're pretty & oh so mesmerizing. When I was leaving the park, one kid had one of the balloons & another child that was being carried kept staring at the balloon. I would too if I was her. :p

I am SOOO getting one if they have them in October :thumbsup2 Very cool! Thanks for sharing, Albort!

you you trying to deflat them?

to blow them up, you need to pump helium into the outer balloon. just a little bit, enough for the middle balloon to expand.

Then you hold mickeys head and control the helium going into both ears proportionally, you cant have a lopsided one or one ear will go away. as soon they come to about the right size, you release the head while holding the end so it wont leak. after so, you tie it with a ziptie and blow the outer shell to its fullist.

and thats how you blow one of those balloon. :)

No, I wasn't planning to deflate it at all. The girls leave this Saturday to spend time with their Dad :scared1: and we won't see them until we get to Anaheim for DD12's 13th bday :scared1: I was thinking of putting a box in the room with a bunch of balloons in it like they do the envelopes on the commercials, and having her open it when they get dropped off with us in Anaheim. Do you think it would stay inflated that long and would the battery last that long? Or should we just scrap that idea?

you can turn them off. they are like the necklaces with battery and interchangeable batteries. I dont know how long the balloons last, but those types usually last like 1-2weeks.

If the balloons act like the non-light-up balloon-in-balloons, don't let it get too hot! If you do that, the ears deflate really strangely. They end up kinda looking like, well, let's just say that my extended-mama-milk-drinking child giggled nonstop when he saw what Mickey's ear looked like after sitting in a closed car for a couple hours.

Molly! :lmao: too funny.....hmmm not sure if it would work then. Unless they sell them during the day too, because on Sunday it would have to sit in the car in the parking structure before we leave.....if they sell them during the day I could get it on Sunday before we leave......or I could get it on the day we get in, IF we get into our room soon enough, can get to the parks, get the balloon and get back before the kids are dropped of...hmmmm maybe I'll just skip this one....

define day. Balloon Vendors start around 2-3PM. if there is a morning balloon vendor(sometimes but rarely), they will not go out with the light up balloon.

HOWEVER, if you soo desperately want one, you can ask the balloon vendor if you can get it special ordered. if he/she wont do it, go up to city hall/info booth/guest relations and ask them. they will call the vendor's office with that request. Be patient as well since sometimes, it may take 10-20 mins for them to bring it.

Albort you rock! :) Thanks for the info. We usually leave around 2 or 3 so that just might work....

Wow, that sounds like a lot of work. No wonder they cost $12!

My three boys would giggle too. Of course, they find suggestions of that fondly-remembered or still used body part in many things. ;)
