Hi Everyone,

I notice on the WDW site that it says you can take small coolers into the park as long as they don't have wheels etc - has anyone tried this or had any problems at security check etc?

Many thanks for your help!

We had an ultra tightly budgeted trip for New Year's eve last year, & every day we made our lunches, snacks & dinners, packed them in a tote bag like cooler (about 2ftx1ft), and went to the parks. We never had a problem with security, and found at such a busy time of year, really saved us a lot of time from standing in line to get food. We would put the cooler tote in a locker, carried some snacks in a backpack with us, and someone would go by the locker to grab more food as necessary. It worked great.popcorn::

You would need to do the locker or shoulder carry thing. Try not to sneak alcohol in.

Thanks for the replies guys, don't worry I wasn't planning on taking any alcohol! Just some drinks for the kids really as they drink sooooo much!

The cooler bag I have is really small and would fit in the bottom of our backpack so its great to know I won't get into any trouble for using it!

Many thanks x

Nope...we take in snack food and water bottles every day. If the cooler in your backpack- you will need to take it OUT of the backpack for security. Have all zippers unzipped and bags completely opened up and you'll get through security a LOT quicker.

We have taken a small soft-side cooler in with us each time we have went the last few years. Our son has multiple food allergies, and it is nice to have snacks quickly and easily available for small kids. Since we have always had a stroller with us, we just carry the bag on the stroller and leave it hanging on the stroller while we go to shows / ride rides.

Just like camera bags you have to open them up and show them the contents when you enter the park.

I was just coming to ask this very question. My kids drink alot and it will break me having to buy water at the parks. I read on wdwinfo that Animal Kingdom doesn't allow coolers but on the Disney website it doesn't exclude AK. Can someone clarify this for me?

We took a soft cooler to all 4 park last year without any problems. I think the issues at Animal Kingdom are for items that may harm the animals if it gets to their enclosures, like straws, wrappers and napkins. No one even questioned us bringing the cooler full of bottled water! HTH

We just returned Saturday and went to all of their parks, including Blizzard Beach. We brought a small cooler/tote with a bunch of bottled waters for us and the kids. We never received a hard time at any park, including Animal Kingdom. Saved a ton of $$ and time from standing in lines. The kids have thermos' with straws so we'd get ice (any Disney restaurants, bakeries, etc.). They'll give you ice for free, so we'd add it to their sippy's etc. to keep the water cold once the heat of the day wore on our little cooler. Have fun!!
