cooler on castaway cay

We got the cooler. Ours is blue, soft-side with a zipper. It seems like it has the DCL logo in white. I think it will hold about 8 water or beer bottles with ice. Ours did leak as the ice melted...not sure if that's common, or just a flaw in ours. I can post a picture later tomorrow, but I'm not home right now.

It wasn't just yours. We bought one as soon as we got off the ship and then decided to walk to Serenity Bay. Mick carried the cooler bag and by the time we got to SB, his shorts and the lower half of his shirt were soaked through!!
Mental note: don't buy them from just off the ship .. Get to the beach, and you can get them from there!!!

Soft sided, holds 6 or 8 bottles or cans. They fill it with ice too just so it leaks really well if you carry it!!!
It has the DCL logo on the front (printed not stitched).

Thanks to both of you for the descriptions. I'm thinking I'll have to pick one up in September!

Ours is like the one posted, but yellow, and maybe a little smaller. We've had it for years, but as others have said, it leaks! It's cute, but not very sturdy. I wouldn't use it for anything but a few drinks with an ice pack or a sandwich or something light.

You can only get water with the coolers. But you can also purchase an empty cooler for around $10. They are definitely convenient if you have kids in activities

Just off the Magic 4/6. Guy said we could get water, soda or a mix. We opted for water only as soda was available at the drink stations. I wonder if its new.

Here is ours from 2 years ago on the Dream. I love it and it's literally the only thing I bought on that cruise. Shocking! Mine does not leak. If it's different next month I may get another.

It's still the same.

Also I saw those that said theirs leaked mine doesn't leak. It also has a Velcro removable liner.

It looks like it might make a nice bag for me to carry my lunch to work.

I think it might be a little big for that unless you pack a 7 course meal.

As someone else already mentioned, we bought ours on the pier as we got off the ship at CC and by the time we got to Serenity, it was leaking badly. Once we got situated, we did see the CMs walking around all the lounges selling them as well. We wished we had waited.

We took the cooler back with us on the next cruise and put a large plastic zip lock inside. We had our cabin steward fill the zip loc with ice and that worked out a lot better.

Ours was filled with water, and I thought I remembered it as being around $12-$15.

We sure did appreciate not having to go find water and having it right there with our stuff when we got back from snorkeling.

Purchased ours on our first cruise in 2008. I still use it for packing drinks/snacks to take to the pool or ballgames, but it does leak! Easy solution to that is to use the plastic type frozen ice packs instead of actually ice.

When we got ours, it was with combo of waters & cokes. Yes, both are free at Cookies & other places, but nothing beats a ice cold CAN of coke!!!

Isn't that the truth!

As others have said, it was about $20 and it really was about the best $20 we spent on the cruise. The last time we were there was in July of last year and it was fairly hot (compared to March the year before). Having those waters was great! We even loved the cooler too, although DH tried to throw it out the other day! :confused3

We were on the Dream this week and heard people ask about the cooler and the CM said "we don't have that anymore!" Not sure if he meant just not at that time. Ours from 2005 tore at the side where the strap attached. Found a new one at the Salvation Army! We use a small Rubbermaid container as a liner so no more leaking.

We bought this one last summer. It's a generous size, it came with 6 water bottles on ice, around $30 I think. Ours is not at all waterproof. I didn't notice on the beach, but when we put it on the floor of our cabin the carpet soaked through. I bought it hoping I could use it back home as a small cooler but that won't work unless I put a plastic bag inside to line it.

The coolers were available on our Fantasy cruise in January 2015. They were sold in several locations, including where excursions were meeting up in the Tube. I do not remember the price but it was reasonable enough that I considered it.
