Inspired by Bella's thread. We are taking my DD skiing at Mont Tremblant,Canada during February. What kind of pants should she wear to ski? Jeans w/ thin long underwear or ski pants? Also which is the right choice for a day on the slopes: lightweight, medium weight,or heavyweight thermal underwear? Any help is very much appreciated!!

I'm not sure about the weight of the thermals, but definately NOT jeans. If she falls a few times, she be soaked and so uncomfortable. Definately snow pants and long underwear.

Not jeans. Ski/Snow or even splash pants would work. I wouldn't wear thermal underwear under ski/snow pants if she is old enough to really ski (over 8) as she will sweat in them. if she is little and learning or playing then the more layers the better! have fun!

Do not ski in jeans, this is really uncomfortable. We always wear long johns - usually midweight polypro under the ski pants. Dress in layers on top. It is easier to take off a layer if she gets hot. We usually wear polypro top, turtleneck, fleece vest and then the ski jacket. Also consider a neck warmer which she can pull up over her face. Helmets are great and they keep you warmer than a regular hat.
