Cool Illuminations Facts That I read on Wikipedia...

I'm saving you all the trouble of reading the whole article and putting the facts I found most interesting...

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is split into three acts:

Act I: Chaos. (This part uses the Inferno Barge) Chaos signifies the Big Bang and the creation of the Earth.
Act II: Order. Order is brought to Earth and the Earth Globe appears. It changes from hot white to red to blue. Images appear on the Globe of countries, famous places, objects, and people.
Act III: Celebration. The Earth Globe opens revealing a torch and 1,000 white fireworks are ignited. The final loud fireworks explode and white, perimeter flash and end with a loud crackle.

The LED video display [on the globe] is run by a Pentium II server running Windows 95/8 (I thot it'd be a MUCH more complicated system!)

The Earth Globe is considered to be the most complicated piece of show equipment in the world.

After the park closes, at around 10:30 PM, the "Inferno Barge Burn Off" takes place where any extra propane is blown out, creating a huge explosion. YAY FIRE! That would be SOOOO exciting to see!!!

Lasers light the sky with a wide variety of colors including lagoon blue, mint green, pumpkin orange, and lavender. (I just thought that the speficity of those colors was silly!)

Twenty torches are spaced surrounding the World Showcase Lagoon, representing the twenty centuries that have passed in the Common Era. (So many inside secrets we just never knew!)

ABC News used a version of the theme [of Illuminations] for their televised election coverage throughout 2000 and 2004. (Politics and Disney...that just kind of annoyed me...but it was also kinda funny cuz now it rings a bell)

Jim Cummings (the voice of Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, as well as other characters) provides the narration at the beginning of Reflections of Earth (!!! WAT???!)

I doubt it really had much to do with politics, they probably just used the music because Disney owns ABC.

The fact that it's split into acts like that makes it one of the only fireworks shows that tell a story...which is amazing.

I want to see this!! I've seen it on the internet from somebody who video taped it, and its really cool. They have an announcer and everything. This upcoming trip, I am staying and watching it!!!

HA, i played illuminations while DJ'ing a party last night b/c they wanted music during their fireworks show lol, seemed like a good idea to me lol they seemed to like it

Wikipedia has a lot of true stuff on there, but I'm sure some of the stuff is inaccurate, just double check anything you are going to get graded on, and there shouldn’t be a problem.

Ha, my teachers ban the use of it! But it's still really cool to hear these things...and who knows, it could all be true. Even if it's not, it's still fun to think it is!

my previous teachers couldn't have told you what wiki was if you asked them. dunno about htis year. I usually just google what I need and cross check what comes up against themselves for authenticity.
