Cooking Demos???

On the 7 day cruise they had an "Art of Entertainment" Enrichment series with severals demos. Each one came with a sample (including wine and drinks). We even learned how to do many of the napkin folds on the ship. Each session ran about an hour and if I remember there were 5 of them.

They had a cooking show set complete with an overhead camera so you could see what was happening.

We got some good tips from them.

We attended a cooking demo on each of our four day cruises. Each time it was the head chef from Palo cooking a wonderful meal. This past December the meal was Shrimp Risotto. The chef was wonderful about answering questions and demonstrating his technique, and explaining why various ingredients were used. At the end of the demonstration, the wine steward from Palo explained how to choose a wine to go with this dish, and then everyone in the audience was given a serving (a full, dinner-sized portion!) of the meal and a glass of wine. This took about an hour, and we really enjoyed it!

Besides the great food and drink, the chef's provide recipes, answer all types of questions and are very entertaining! We never miss one of their presentations.

Also, take the kitchen tour - and remember the expression "You could eat off the floor" - well, I bet you could there! It's incredibly spotless!

I can't wait for these cooking demonstrations! I love watching the Food Network on cable tv. I think that this will probably be one of the highlights of my cruise.
