First, I want to say hello. My name is Kim and I just joined the boards tonight.

We are going to DW in November, at which time DS will be 4. I have been planning this trip since he was born. The reason I planned to go when he was 4 was because I saw a show about Disney on the Travel Channel and it showed a really cute cooking class at one of the hotels for kids 4 and up. The kids make treats like cookies and wore big chef hats and then got to parade around the hotel. I would love for him to do something like this, but I can't seem to find any information on it. Does anyone know if this still exists? If so, where and how do you sign up?

Thanks,
Kim

I think you are describing THIS

Also, at Epcot in The Land, near Soarin ride, there is a FREE baking class. The kids bake cookies and then get to bring 2 each home with them.

Have fun planning.

At the same hotel as the cooking class they have a pirate cruise
My kids did the cooking adventure same as below
wonderland tea partyds(was 7) dd(4)
pirate cruise ds(10)
dd-disney girl princess tea party
All three of my children are going on albtross cruise this time.

They love them all so far.

Are u doing any character meals?

My DD will be 4 as well and wants to do the cooking class. Because 4 is the youngest you can be, do you think that she will be able to follow along or do you think we should wait a few more years.

The pirate cruise sounds fun. I'll have to check into that. Thanks!

I am planning on doing the Chef Mickey's character breakfast. Since my oldest is a boy, I don't see a need to try to attempt the Cinderella breakfast this time. I also have a DD, who will be 1 at the time of the trip. So, I don't think she'll care much if we miss Cindy, lol! Do you have any suggestions for a nice character breakfast? I did a lot of reading on the restaurant board and Chef Mickey's seemed to be a very popular choice.

rchristiansen, I wondered the same thing about being too young. But, since we live on the West Coast and probably won't get back there for a few more years, I'm going to let him try it anyway. It's all just for fun, so I would say let your DD do it if she wants to.

DD had not problems following along at 4
My oldest son has CP and encephlopathy so although he was 7 on the first trip he was functioning at a little lower level then her on some things and he had not problems other than them spelling his name wrong on his apron (make sure you spell it for them his name is Ryan and they put Bryan.

We have been to Crystal Palace and really enjoyed it.
Most of are other meals were princess meals. (poor boys) we plan on doing the toy story meal if it comes to pass
We are trying the Lilo and stitch breakfast at ohana's next month I'll let you know how they like that.
they loved Mickey's backyard bbq ane the luau.

What's the toy story meal?

I did make reservations for both Mickey's Backyard BBQ and the Luau last week. After further reading, I'm still not sure about the luau though. Is it more for the adults than the kids?

There's supposed to be a Toy Story Breakfast starting April 1 at MGM at H&V restaurant.

I enjoyed the Luau very much and booked it when my girls were 3 and 6, when Lilo and Stitch was just out in theaters. Thought they'd love it. They fell asleep, both of them before the dancing started right at the table! I was so disappointed. :(
