Just tried to order some cookies online - just for festive cheer. Thing is, all big market chains demand at LEAST £40 be spent in one go or NO ORDER. I want biscuits, but £40 of biscuits in one go? I mean, you can get 4 packs of Jammy Dodgers for £9! Thankfully Amazon came to my rescue, but I mean, WTH? OK, so I'll probably scoff the lot in 10 minutes but it's the principal...

Most cookie stores are charging $4 - $5 per cookie. So $40 is probably only a dozen cookies.

Were you ordering for delivery? I understand having a minimum purchase for delivery, but when stores want $35-$40 minimum for a pickup order and I only need one thing, I get a little frustrated. Target is usually my go to for pickup orders because they don’t have a minimum that I am aware of (I think my lowest pickup order was maybe $7 so far). I might as well shop in the store if they put a minimum on pick up orders.

I hope your cookies are tasty!

Amazon is super pricey for food, do you have Instacart where you are to order from a grocery store?
I tried every mart over here, either they aren't in stock or they have a minimum spend of crazy £££ (or both). Amazon was OK prices for what I wanted, not great, not awful, and they have no minimum spend - and they deliver for free tomorrow.

Jammy Dodgers were available for a short time only in the Bronx... and they were expensive !!!!

Are we talking commercially produced cookies from a supermarket or homemade cookies?

I have had friends try side businesses making ornately decorated sugar cookies. Most of them have minimum orders of a dozen. When they were starting out, their least ornate options went for $5 a cookie (so $60 a dozen). The more ornate the cookie...the higher the price. I know one friend was charging around $12 per cookie for really elaborate ones. Their prices tend to go up as they become more skilled and get more of a following. I know one recently shifted her base cookie price to something like $7-8 a cookie.

If it's supermarket cookies, my store has a $35 order minimum for pickup or delivery. I know Jammie Dodgers is a brand name cookie, but I've seen people make their own and use a variety of spellings and styles for this type of cookie/biscuit. Looks like a kind of linzer torte if I'm looking at the right thing, right?

I had to look them up I was not familiar with them. I love a shortbread cookie with jam! Looks like World Market carries them. I might have to try them next time I’m there.

When I was a little girl my mother and I used to like getting chocolate chip cookies at the mall and when we used to go to Macy's we would always buy cookies from Mrs. Fields Cookies because our Macy's actually had a Mrs. Fields cookie shop in their The Cellar area in the store and those cookies were actually a good price. But if you look at cookies today I think they have gone up in price and it seems that you can only get certain cookies if you have a supermarket that has a sale on them. But with stores like Crumbl Cookies becoming huge I think the bakeries will go broke because people love buying cookies especially if there's special occasions like birthdays Christmas weddings graduations and Mother's Day. But a place I highly recommend is Cheryl's Cookies and it's an amazing cookie catalog that sells amazing cookies and my mom ordered some Christmas cookies from Cheryl's Cookies and they taste wonderful and very sweet and rich too
