this year my dd and I have been invited to a cookie swap. I'm not the greatest baker. I also have a nut allergy, so I'm looking for a cookie recipe that is not too complicated and doesnt have nuts but still looks festive. Any ideas or a pic of the cookies would be awesome.
TIA

We always make Snickerdoodles, they are simple, the kids and help, and everyone loves them. Here's a link to the recipe from Betty Crocker.

An idea to make them a little more festive would be to use a colored sugar to mix with the cinnamon you roll them in, just make sure its a fine ground sugar vs large and course, otherwise it won't mix well (with the cin.) and stick when rolled.

How about a no bake girl scout knock off.

Melt chocolate (or dark chocolate) and add some mint extract to taste. Dip and cover Nilla wafers and set on a pan with wax paper to cool. While wet you can even embellish with sprinkles.

We like doing dipped pretzel rods. I dip them in either dark or white chocolate, then shake on some Christmas sprinkles while they are still wet. You can drizzle them with red or green candy melts, too. They look really festive.

White chocolate covered double stuffed oreos.......these were given to me in a goodie basket one year and OMG......pure HEAVEN!!!!! BTW, to holiday them, the creator drizzed red & green dyed chocolate over them. YUM!

We LOVE to take a Ritz cracker, top with peanut butter, add another cracker to make a little sandwich, then dip it in melted dipping chocolate! They are delicious!
