I would like to give a cookie baking gift basket to a few families with children for Christmas. I thought about maybe adding cookie cutters,oven mits,etc...any other ideas what to add in the baskets? I have also seen putting a jar of cookie mix in the basket. I would prefer to buy prepackaged mixes that do not need refrigeration. Also trying to keep the budget low. Any ideas?

Some bottles of different colors of sprinkles would be cute if they're sugar cookies. You could also get a cute "Cookies for Santa" plate, I think I usually see these at Dollar Tree.

* cookie cutters
* bag cookie mix
* frosting tubes & gels
* sprinkles and assorted cookie "toppings" - candies
* oven mitt
* flipper
* pick up a small photo album from $1 store & print out some favorite cookie recipes (on colored or special paper if you have it) & slip them in each place - you could also put some pictures of family enjoying treats on opposite pages.
* Box of hot chocolate, coffee singles, or tea bags to enjoy with cookies.

You can get decors (sprinkles, jimmies & colored sugars) in bulk containers at club stores and divide them into smaller containers.

Our Target has started putting their Christmas stuff on their dollar spot and they had cookie cutters, oven mitts, kitchen towels and even silicone muffin/cake pans!:santa:

Don't forget a rolling pin :)
