Does anyone know if children can still bake their own cookies at the Land Food Court ? Can someone review the procedure on this --how to sign up, cost, when they do this?? Thanks for the help.

I am not sure at what times they do this, but it's free and doesn't require any sign-up. Just show up a few minutes early.

We did it last October and the kids we were with loved it. We just caught the tail end of one session and waited for the next. I think they ran about every half hour or so. It may have been every 45 min. The kids enjoyed themselves and we all go a free yummy cookie (cause the boys shared with us and thier mom!).

We just came across this during our trip last week -- this was something I had never known about. They do it on the hour, starting at 12:30 and it runs until 4:30. It really is a cute thing for the kids to do.

We are here now and my niece did it yesterday. They noticed that it was offered and just lined up. She had a ball.

My kids (DD6 and DS8) loved this 2 weeks ago when we were there.

The spot is in the Land food court at the far left as you face the food counters. Can't miss it . It's yellow and red like a bag of Nestle's chocolate chips and says Junior Chef.

I think the times for that day were posted. We ate and rode the boat, then went back for the 2:30 cookie bake! We waited near there until the 2 CM's came out to get started (about 10 min ahead of the start time). They gave each child a chefs hat and wrote their name on it. At 2:30 they brought the children in to the "corral". Parents can watch and take photos from benches around the area. There were 20 children. Several were turned away as 20 must be the max per session. Ages were 3-10 or there about.

There are 2 counters with 10 kids and one CM at each. Each child gets an assignment. One of mine was in charge of baking soda, the other sifted the dry ingredients, etc. They make the batter together (traditional toll house recipe) and put it on a cookie sheet. Then those are taken away and each child is given a little cup of choc chips to shake and wish for cookies. Low and behold, one ofthe CMs comes back with little yellow Nestle's bags with 2 perfect choc chip cookies for each child.

Cute! Kids loved the experience and the cookies. I was glad they didn't let them have the real ones after all those hands went in the ingredients!!!

Kinda made me sad to see all that dough go to waste, though - it's the BEST part!!! Before the cookies were "baked", the CM's asked what do we do with the dough now? I was afraid my kids would shout "scoop it onto a spoon and eat it!"

My DD 9.5 and DS 6.5 Just did this on June 19 and had a blast !!! I have some really great pictures and my DS really thought that the cookies they brought were his and he said to me "I am the best cookie maker mom have a taste" and of course I played it up !! we at lunch ( got FP for the land ride ) and went to the 12:30 one ... its Every hour on the hour start at 12:30 , I would highly recommend it.. Michelle

ps they get to scoop 2 cookie on the sheet , then they are told to gather around and close their eyes and then they bring out cookie bags w/ 2 cookies each and a small container of Choc.Chips !! they also get a chef hat w/ their name

This seems like something my DD 10 an DS 11 would love to do. Is this where the Garden Grill restaurant is?

My two girls did this in November, and this activity was among my favorites! The photos from it were excellent! (I am a scrapbooker, and I had some cookie stickers, and baking die cuts, and the pages I did from this were absolutely awesome if I do say so myself ~ ha) Anyhow, my kids talk about this a lot...as another poster mentioned, one of my girls got to pour, and one got to stir, and they really spend a lot of time with each, and between the logos and the colors and the "equipment", it is a really cute experience. The chefs come out to the food court and "round up" some participants. Sooo, I'd say if you're standing at their gate waiting a few minutes before showtime, yer in. It seemed as if not many people knew about this, but it is highly worth it. The best photo I got was of both kids in their chef hats with their baggies and chocolate all over their mouths in their strollers with big happy grins~! cute!
