This is the counter service next to Ragland Road. It is quite wonderful if you are in the mood for fish and chips but have members of your party who do not eat fish. There is chicken, sausages, and scallops as well. The sausages sounded really weird but they were totally wonderful. I ended up eating those first out of my combo. The fish was a nice HUGE piece. I got two scallops in the combo. The big ones not the tiny scallops.

The food was made fresh when I ordered it. It came out hot and tasty. The customer service was good. There is minimal indoor seating which was not a problem today. The outside section is called Hole In The Wall. They serve draft beer out there. You do not have to drink to eat your food from Cookes there.

Cookes is another fine example of why I love the counter service places at DTD. The food is good. The prices are worth it for what you recieve. They offer deep fried candy bars for dessert. That is always a plus. Of course I tend to walk around after I eat and run over to Goofy's after dinner wears off a bit.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering how we could have our fish and chips and beer too! I love the food at Raglan Road, but sometimes we don't feel like the whole restaurant experience.

I agree with you about the Goofy's run after dinner, but I just might have to try that fried candy bar once...

This is also a favorite of ours, the deep fried candy bars are to die for;)

Thanks for the review. My DH loves fish and chips and wants to try either raglan road or this one, depending on crowds.

Fried candy bar??? What is that, it sounds very interesting.

Are fried candy bars the only dessert they offer, though? I looked at their menu on Deb's site and I didn't see anything else listed!

Thanks for the information. I haven't had good fish and chips in a long time. What type of candy bar is the fried candy bar? I've had fried oreos and they are yummy.

Yes over there it is traditionally done with a Mars bar. What they use here in the states I do not know.

DD and I shared a meal there last week. We also thought the candy bar was a Snickers. The fish was very good and the chips were fantastic. I do wish their malt vinegar was a little stronger. The tarter sauce with the fish was also good.

I was there last week and ran in to ask if I could get the fried snickers for a snack credit. I did so with no problem. It was wonderful, but sooo rich.
