In Northern KY there is a Knights of Columbus trailer that hits all the festivals - serves 'em fresh and hot. You can get plain, cinnamon, or powdered sugar. I get all three in the same bag and shake!

Can't wait until the next Church Festival!

I made donuts for breakfast on Sunday before church. Man, they were good, the old fashioned fry cake type. I made both powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar ones. Hot out of the fryer!

I voted Kryspy Kreme. I work in Mobile AL the birthplace that brand. They are the best if you want a light fluffy sugary treat. But if you like cake type donuts or flavored onse you better head to Dunkin Donuts which we don't have here. For the record I was a Cop for 14 years before transfering to the Fire Department. We get all the free Kryspy Kremes we want as long as we show up in the truck. We have to ration ourselves.

No disrespect Frank....but....the K.K.'s in my area are made elsewhere and are usually stale by the time you get them. I've never had a fresh K.K. :sad2:

This is becoming more of a "Memories From 1970's Western New York".

How about King Submarine? YUM!!

When I moved to Florida in 1973, we had Masters Merchandise - which was the same as Brand Names. Nothing was similar to Two Guys.....except maybe Twin Fair!!

Can anyone tell me if Park Edge Grocery Store is still around? That place was a true adventure!

Oh....and most of the 70's is a blur to me :hippie:.

They are to die for if you get them while they are still warm and soft. I need to quit before I have to leave work. Im only one mile from the main store where they are made. I bet they have the Hot Now light on.

Just let ya'll know,,Dunk'n freezes the doughnuts,,sends them to their stores,,at the store they just thaw them out.

Now I'm not say'n that it's not a quality doughnut, but, I'm just say'n I'd rather have fresh made.

I wonder how Tim Horton's does it? I've never seen a deep fryer back there....hmm.

That ain't right.

Kinda wish I hadn't read this. I've been happily picturing DD peeps in the back, furiously rolling out dough and dropping 'em in the fryer. Sniff!

Y'all are making me want to give KK another shot. They always seemed kinda dense to me, not light and fluffy like my...pre-made, frozen, and thawed...DD donuts.

Riddle me this: If you buy them at the store, and warm them in the microwave, do they taste like they do when they're "fresh and hot"?

There used to be a KK when we first moved here, up in Cary, that had drive-thrus on both sides of the building. Love that convenience! (But they closed before I ever tried it...boo.)

Yes , they do taste fresh when you heat them,,in fact,,if you look on the side of a Krispy Kreme box, it gives you directions on how to heat a doughnut.
(for those people who aren't smart enough to turn onna microwave for 8 seconds :rotfl:)

And there is a KK in Nashvegas that has TWO drive thru windows, :thumbsup2
