Well - the itching to return has hit me. I was planning on going next year and do the half marathon (training is going great - sorry for not posting, have been so busy!), but I just kind of got the deal of a lifetime.

I would be in a timeshare resort in Kissimee (never been to Kissimee - how is it?) for $300 for one week, a rental car for the week for $100, and airfare out of Edmonton for $550 (all taxes incl.- this is a great deal). I already have all my tickets for WDW and USO, so I wouldn't have to factor in that. I have a full kitchen in my resort and could do alot of cooking there.

What is the holdup? Well, I am a student and would be leaving the day after a final and getting back the day before the next class starts. Usually, I use those days to work extra hours to help with school, but I won't be here to get that money. I will be going solo, which is normally not a big deal to me, but kind of would like the company. I also am planning on going there with a friend when I go and do my marathon anyways, so I will technically be there in less than a year. But, I was supposed to go last year, and those plans were thwarted. I really need a break though, and even just going to BC is about the same cost. What do you all think? Really need some good advice. If I take the trip, I have to book by Wednesday.

Thanks everyone! :confused3

Basically, ask yourself, can you afford not to work during that week!?!

I know, reality stinks!

Well Jo, having a kid in university, I know how expensive it is. Not only would you lose money by not working, you have to spend more money to go, whether it's to Disney or BC.

Maybe you could consider taking a weekend break or two somewhere more local that wouldn't cost you a lot or require you lose valuable work time.

Your marathon trip with your friend will be here before you know it! ;)

Chisjo!!! As hard as it is for me to say this and pass up a great deal.....TimnDan'smom is right! I too have a son in univesity. We are going to Florida for the 2nd year that he will not be coming as he has a fulltime job and can't afford to lose it or 2 weeks off!! Just think after you have graduated and got yourself a fab job then you can go as much as you want(well no not really but nice to dream) but you know what I mean!!! Good Luck in your exams and if you go have a great time!!! :cool1:

here is the deal - this morning I got offered a job with Capital Health - for a student nurse making great money. I start the first week of May (the trip is April 22-29). The money that I earn from there and the money I continue to earn from my other part time job will be more than enough to pay for the trip. Plus, I also found out that I got a scholarship for September. So, I am going to take the trip.

I know that maybe I should wait, but I graduate in December, and am plowing through school and really need a break. I am really looking forward to this. I have 4 classes left and am getting half of them paid for with the scholarship, plus I have 2 great part time jobs that will help to pay for everything. I guess my mind is made up - I have to go.

Thanks though for all the advice guys - I am really looking forward to this!

Congratulations on your new job. Great news!

That does change everything. I was originally thinking along the same lines as the previous responses.
Which hospital will you be working at? I'm getting ready to go back to work. I'm in health care too but Westview in Stony is closer to me.

Enjoy your trip!!!!
