Convince me DVC isn't a money pit

This past June, I had 19 family members gather at Saratoga Springs for my mom's 80th birthday, we even had T-shirts made up for the occasion for everyone.

We had a 2 bedroom villa and a Grand Villa for 3 nights, without DVC, there would have been NO WAY for me to have provided this gathering.

If I had to pay cash for it, it would have been $2000 a night for the same accommodations. I used 251 points for it and I still had 34 points left to bank to my next use year which I'm using next week for The Food and Wine Festival.

My family was blown away by the accommodations, each morning everyone gathered in the Grand Villa where we made fabulous breakfasts for everyone and every night we all gathered for dessert and coffee and sat around the huge dining room table and reminisced about growing up and the wonderful times we had through the years.

My mom said it was the best birthday she ever had.

And the best part, I can keep doing things like this for the next 30+ years.

Thanks DVC

My belief is that members forced DVC to reallocate the points by staying Sun-Thurs. and checking out on Friday and Saturday and staying elsewhere for cash and then coming back on Sunday when points dropped again. There were probably alot of empty rooms on weekends.

This is just my opinion.
While we don't have the hard numbers to share, that is a factual statement and not just opinion.
