Hello, I haven't been here in quite some time..
We are trying to plan a trip to Disney World ...August 2010..

Trying to convince my husband.. that is going to be great.. is another thing..

The last time we visited WDW was 1993/1994.. so our sons ages were 3 and 4.. so we lugged the strollers..etc.. and then, I got sick and so did the boys..

Now fast forward to 2009.. we have 2 more sons.. ages 7 and 12 ...and we really want to go..

The boys ages now..are 19, 17,12 and 7...

its going to be easy peasy!! right???

First off: wow, four boys! lol

Second off, I think you'll have a blast. The only thing I'd think about is if any of your sons are in that "I'm a teenager and I'm too cool" stage. My younger brother is 16, and he likes EPCOT, MGM and Animal Kingdom, but his least favorite kingdom is MK. He says a lot of it is so childish and blah blah blah.

I'll be 22 this year, and my favorite kingdom is MK. My 19 year old boyfriend is going this year, and I'm trying to pump him up some about MK, cause I don't want him to be like my brother and think it's just kiddie.

We're kind of worried about my dad being kind of grumpy, too, though.

I don't think it will be nearly as bad as when your sons were younger since you don't have to worry about strollers and etc. They're older and will enjoy some of the other things now like Rockin' Roller Coaster, Soarin', and Space Mountain.

It is much easier without strollers, naps, etc (though I miss those times and would go back in a heartbeat to relive them again!) But yes, it is much esasier. We can go with just aobut nothing for the whole day, no breaks other then sitting and enjoying a Dole Whip (or other yummy treat) for a while. And even our teenage driving us crazy daughter still has a blast in Disney. Your kids will have a great time, now to just work on that hubby....

My DH loves the food, I say find what your DH would like and run with it!

Oh, yeah! I COMPLETELY agree on that one, too!
Whatever your DH is into it, go with that, run with it, and remind him of how awesome it will be.

My DBF (Disney boyfriend, is that right? haha) loves history, traveling, rollercoasters, and food. So I keep telling him about turkey legs and all of the places to eat, EPCOT and the countries, and rides like Rockin' Roller Coaster and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

If you find some stuff that he's in to, I'm sure that will get him a little more excited and it will give him something more to look forward to while y'all are there.

We went when the kids were 6 & 3 and then again @ 8 & 5. Boy what a difference. No stroller, (although we thought we might have to rent one for the 5 yr old but turns out we didn't need it) no diapers, no nap (just a mid- day rest @ the pool) & it was soooo much easier. I think you will have a great time with the ages of your boys.

Don't get me wrong, we had a great time at the younger ages too, it just went smoother this time around. Have a great trip.

There are so many things to do for adults and teens in the World. I'd suggest buying a Birnbaum Guidebook and letting him puruse through it for some food and attraction choices he wants to try. He could also do a Segway Tour :moped: with the 2 older boys while you do a character breakfast with the younger two. Make sure you have ADRs for meals so no waiting or hassle when he's hungry and hot. Once he gets there I'm sure he'll be fine. Seeing WDW through your childrens' eyes is the true Magic:grouphug:

Maybe explaining to DH that the boys could go off together for a day (part/whole/night) and you and he could spend some "quality time" together exploring the World may help convince him. :lovestruc

And yes, it will SO much easier without the strollers, bags, etc. Your boys are old enough to be responsible for carrying their own bags/packs and no one will have to wait behind due to height requirements.

Have a great time!!!

Wow! Four boys! I think that you would have a blast in Disney. The two younger ones are at a great age to enjoy Disney. Just book it and tell him you are going and he will enjoy it!

It's really fun to go to Disney with the little ones, but think of howmuch easier it would be with older kids! No strollers, naps, meltdowns, diapers, ten changes of clothes, wipes, baby care center stops, tantrums, or bottles and sippy cups. The older ones can go off by themselves for a little while and you can enjoy some time with your youngest too. He probably would appreciate the one on one time with mom and dad while the oldest guys get some free time. I'd sat it would work out most excellently!!!!! Come up with a plan together and stick with it for the most part. The kids will have a blast!
