Converting video to dvd question

Our Sony Handycam recently broke and I still have some tapes from it that I never converted onto a dvd. It uses the mini DVC type tapes. Is there something I can buy to do the converting, other than another handycam, as I'm not sure I would want to buy that, (we would probably go with something digital)?

Also, I know places will do it for me, just not sure how pricey that would be.

Costco charges $17.99 per DVD. Each DVD holds 2 hours worth of video.

Thanks for the info. I don't currently have a membership at Costco but I think my friend does.
