Converting Quick Service Meals to Snacks?

Please excuse me if this has been discussed over and over. I'm a newbie and I couldn't find the answer on the forum, even though I imagine it's there.

I'm thinking that I will have a few quick service meals left over at the end of my trip. Is it possible that I could convert them to snacks?

If so, can I convert them at any place? (Personally, I would rather use my entire dining plan on the new caramel place in Germany, but I digress).

If not, could you recommend a place where I could get a cold "to go" meal or two for the drive home (if I bring a cooler)

Disney does not have an official policy allowing the conversion of QS credits to snack credits. Some folks on the board have said that they had the best luck doing this at resort locations and I don't think I have heard of anyone being able to do this inside one of the parks. The conversion rate also seems to vary depending on the place you are at, the cast member you are dealing with, etc.

Last year we used a couple of our remaining QS credits on the pre-packaged sandwiches and salads from Sunshine Seasons (Epcot).

We have taken snacks for CS meals did give 3 snacks and we were at POP so not sure if still doing that or not but you ask where to get cold sandwiches the food court at POP has some good ones just inside the food court on your left. should say it was last October guess will find out in 12 days if still in the same spot. but they did have good selection and would make as you ordered.. wish could take on the plane but know we can't

We've done the table service plan twice and the quick service plan twice, so four times in the last five years. We've never had a problem downgrading from table service to counter service, or counter service to snack. At the resort, they usually tell us to get 2 or 3 snacks in place of a meal. At the parks, you just get the one snack if you use a meal.

so do you go to the concierge and have them change your credits or is this done in the food court at the cashier?

we would each like to have a table service traded for snack credits to use at f&wf in epcot. we'd rather snack and drink than have a sit down meal in epcot.

We were at POP in July and were able to trade 1 CS for 3 Snacks. Works out great for us.

I have to believe that this kind of downgrade is WAY more common at the resorts. People looking on the last day and realizing that they still have a CS credit left, etc. While I am sure some realize in the parks that they will have extras, they hang on to them just in case. Then dump them on food at the resorts.

We too use our last CS to get food for the trip home (about 7-8 hours in a plane). We also use some CS to grab a few meals to go when we go to the beach. This works out well for us. EoS and Gasparilla Grill and Games at GF our 2 of our favorite choices for sandwiches to-go. Last year we got a few from EoS and just asked for them not to be heated.

You will not be able to do this at the Epcot kiosks. They will not accept a TS or a CS credit.

Your only bet for doing this is to go to your resort's lobby concierge and ask to have your TS credits converted into snack credits and see what they say. I don't think there is any guarantee as to how many snack credits you will be able to get per TS credit if you use this option.

HMMMM, this was my question too sort of lol..... we have the Deluxe Dining plan and right now there are NO ADRS for Animal Kingdom on Oct 29. Even though we will have 2 Table credits for breakfast, can we just go to our Hotels Food court and grab a QUICK SERVICE breakfast instead( this actually works out Better for DISNEY because we are spending MUCH less than we would at a buffet/sit down) but didnt know how this would work....OF course I am still going to check Each day for a ressie at AK, but thought id ask. THANKS

You don't have to use deluxe dining plan meals on table service. They are meant to be used on either table service or counter service. We usually do a few counter service while on deluxe dining because its just easier for us with kids. We do sit down breakfast and sit down dinner. General consensus is that if you use 2 table service a day you get your moneys worth. It's not differentiated though meal wise like the normal DDP.

We had the expectation that we could convert (mostly by talking to other people we have known that had done it.) Our experience, however, was quite different. One vendor in AK said he thought we could but referred me to someone else. I spoke with that person at a restaurant (forget the name but it was by the Lion King) anyway he referred me to guest relations. They had a "Roaming" guest relations person in the area there, so I asked. That person (younger guy) told us, NO we could not convert.

Figuring that he was younger and maybe not as well versed with things that maybe less obscure (policy-wise), so when we were leaving AK, I stopped at the main desk for Customer Relations. I was then informed that it is up to the individual managers of the individual facility/kiosk/store to allow or not allow this practice. There is no "Official" policy on it however.

I think it's easier for them to say yes, if the facility has offerings that would normally be a QS to convert it to snacks (such as a resorts food court) but if they only have snacks (like a Kiosk) it may be hard to "Justify" a QS on their register if the have no QS Offerings (if that makes sense).

So my suggestion is that you try and "Maximize" your DDP and use them as intended. If you know you will have leftover QSs then try early on to convert them (at the various locations) into snacks to use, and then when you leave the park/resort at the end, you KNOW you have your left over snacks to use, well, as snacks.

In Oct 2013 we had no problem converting qs or tb credits to snack credits at the resort - which was corlonda springs. I do miss the old day when they convert qs and ts to 3 snack instead of one for one.
