Converting Park Hopper to AP

So DW and I are seriously considering convertiing our 7 day PH to a AP but I have some questions.

• If we convert the first day do the AP discounts start that day?
• Do I need to purchase the AP on day one to get full value from our PH?
• We had purchased Memory Maker, do we need to cancel this now or can we have the value applied to the AP?
• Can we call and purchase the AP now using the value of the park hopper but not have it start until November when we arrive?

We never really thought about doing the AP but the 13 months is definetly making it intriquing. We will probably end up doing a trip in June instead of a cruise we were planning as well as coming down for a November/ December trip next year. Also the the thought of a flight down for a 3 day weekend a couple of times sounds really great. If anyoone has any other pearls of wisdom about doing an AP for the first time that would be great.

2. Nope.
3. This is a frequent problem. Guest Relations can assist you before or after the upgrade.
4. The only tickets that can be upgraded before you arrive are tickets purchased as part of a WDW Resort Package.
Stand-alone tickets cannot be upgraded until arrival.

And if you try to upgrade tickets that are part of a free dining package before you are in the parks you would lose free dining. At least that's what I was told today when I called.

We have a week of free dining and then a week of hotel only and I wanted to upgrade our park hoppers in our magic your way package to season passes and I wanted to do it 60 days out so I can book fastpasses but that is what I was told. So should I try calling again?

The CM I talked with on the phone told me that it would be better for me to upgrade when I got to the park - and that the cost of everything that was included in the annual pass would be applied toward the pass once I had checked into my resort. That was about two weeks ago.

We have 1 day park hopper tickets that we want to upgrade to the 13 month AP. When I called ticketing they said when I was ready to buy the AP I could call them and they would refund my purchased 1 day ticket (not part of a package, but purchased from Disney) and charge the full price of the AP. So, it's kind of upgrading it, I guess.
