Tech support: Okay, sir, I want you to click "Start" and . . .

Customer: Listen, buddy, don't get technical on me!!! I'm not Bill Freakin' Gates, you know!!

sounds like a conversation that my brother complains about, lol. (He IS tech support!)

reminds me of something I read on another board:

Me: (Telephone conversation) OK, tell me everything you see on the screen. I don't care if you think it's important, tell me everything that's on the screen.

(Computer operator tells me what's on the screen.)

Me: You're sure that's everything? It sounds like a simple error. Is there anything else?

Computer operator: No, that's that's everything.

Me: That's really strange. I'd better come down and have a look. I'll be there as soon as I can.

(I drive for an hour to the site, where I find a simple error message that could have been corrected with a single keystroke.)

Me: Did you see this?

Computer operator: Yes.

Me: You did?

Computer operator: Yes.

Me: Didn't I tell you to tell me everything that was on the screen, even if you didn't think it was important?

Computer operator: Yes.

Me: So why didn't you tell me about this?

Computer operator: I didn't think it was important.

And from a tech support person, the TRUTH is much much stranger than fiction.

We dropped new software 3 weeks ago, one of the commands is "Return is over 120 days old, if valid, hit C to continue" I have logged 136 calls asking what to do when the message comes up saying it's over 120 days old.

It's wild out there I tell you, WILD.
