Convention!!!

well, it looks like I will probably be going to a convention in Feb. at WDW!!!!The best part is that it's being held at the Yacht Club, and I can get a rate of $189.00/ nite there!!!! And get a discount on tix (saves about $13.00/ticket over UT prices). I think that 4 nights, tickets and my convention fee will be about $1800.00 for me and DH. Pretty good for YC!!! And I have ALWAYS wanted to stay there. We have stayed at the Swan, and the Dolphin, which I love. But I always looked longingly at BC/YC as we walked by, but the prices were WAY too high. If this works out, and it looks like it will, I am going to have an amazing time! Plus, the cnvention workshops look very interesting (OB Ultrasound),so that's good too!! Gotta try to find decent airfare now!!

Congrats on that great deal!!! You will fall in love with YC. We are going back to the world in March and are staying at CSR, but in the back of my mind I keep thinking of how much I will miss YC.

Is it you going to the convention, with DH tagging along, or the other way around? MY DH had a convention this summer at the Contemporary. I had a great time visiting other resorts and the parks while he was in session. I planned a lot of things to do together and we did most of them despite him getting sick with a cold and fever right in the middle of the week.

I kept telling DH what a great rate the convention hotel rate was but he still complained about the extra days I booked.

I think I envy you getting to go in cooler weather!

Convention rates are awesome and we have taken some very nice trips that included conferences for business. Hope you dont have to spend the entire time in workshops! Your husband may want to book a tour or a round of golf while you are in meetings. And dont forget to get adr's at a couple of signature dining restaurants! Have fun!

going to the convention. I am an ultrasound technologist (that's why my screen name is scanmom, lol). I am excited about the meetings, they look really interesting, but I am also excited that they let out everyday by 1:00 pm! That means plenty of time for Disney fun! DH isn't a golfer, but he likes to sleep in on vacations, which usually doesn't happen on Disney trips, so he is going to ba a happy camper. I won't be dragging him to rope drop! I figure he will sleep in, check out the pool area, maybe get into a hot tub, then we will have lunch together and do our park touring. It should be a really laid back trip. No kids and me busy at meetings all morning! I am excited about the YC, but I also have always wanted to stay at CSR. It seems like every time I try for it, they are sold out of the special deal rooms! I was planning on trying to get a deal there for early summer, but this will be better!

We are going with DH next week for a convention. Got a great rate at the Grand Floridian. Our only options were the BC, CR and GF. Always wanted to stay at the GF so it was perfect. Plus the pool slide will be closed at BC when we go so that helped with the decision.

Have a great time! This is our 3 trip with DH. I have already started looking at the dates for next year.
