Have any of you ever purchased or used Convention Tickets? (The tickets available when you're attending a conference or convention).

A friend has offered to sell us theirs because they won't be going to the convention that they were scheduled to go to. They are non-refundable and expire on June 30.

If I purchase these, will I need a special ID saying that I'm a convention antendee?

Any info or help anyone can give on these tickets would be an incredible help.

Thanks In Advance!

I'm bumping this up for you because I believe I read a post from disneypal about using tickets her husband got for attending a seminar at Disney. ~:D~

I got one once. Except for the expiration there is no difference and you don't have to be the actual convention attendee. (They push them for your family members also, who are not going to be officially registered, you just have to buy them!)

I get after-4 Epcot passes every year during a June convention. They seem to expire that coming December. Other than that, they basically look like any other paper ticket. There are completely transferable. Not legally, but there's no tracking mechanism. I've handed them out to friends going months later and they've used them. The after 4 is a particularly good pass if you're getting in on a late flight and want to start your trip off with dinner in Epcot.

Are the after 4 passes only available at conventions? How would one obtain them? Please give any other pertinent information you know.

Thanks!

Cindy

We purchased passes last year for WDW when our kids were competing in a large tournament in Orlando.

The passes looked just like the regular 100 Years of Magic Park Hoppers. They were 2-day Park Hoppers with a DQ plus option. Just perfect for our 5-day stay in Orlando.

I forget what the exact cost was but I remember it being only slightly over $100 apiece for adult passes. They did have a September expiration date on them, even though we were there for a July event.

They also had the "after 4 pm" passes for 3 of the parks (AK was not included because it closes so early). I forget what the costs were but the savings were pretty good.

To purchase the tickets, I had to contact the ticket broker that the tournament officials had chosen. I then had to identify myself as being with that group (there was no prompting or help from the telephone agent). And even though I had ordered them well in advance, the tickets did not arrive until a week before our departure.

Other than having to wait so long for the passes, I was happy with the purchase. They worked just fine at the gates and there was no need to show anyone our ID or a registration ID from the tournament. You would probably have no trouble using the passes.

As far as I can tell After 4 passes can ONLY be purchased by convention goers. At one convention I went to the sponsor's donated them but I think they cost around $30.

Likewise, I've had them given to me by vendors. I think "face value" last June was about $33, which I wouldn't pay for after four. But free, heck....

We've been offered several types of passes each year, from after four passes (I've only been offered them to Epcot), after 2 passes to MK and Epcot, and two day hoppers with PI for a night. Definately check with your convention folks, or see if they have a web site.

I have several one days passes from an old conference. Does this mean I can't take them to GS and get a 4 day hopper? (obviously paying the difference)

Sandy

Before I ordered them I asked a million questions. No, we do not have to use them during the convention (but we will), they come with an expiration date on the back and ours is dated Dec. 31, 2003. When I spoke with the rep about hopper passes he said we had 10 days from first use to complete all of our hopping. It did not have to be consecutive days. They are nonrefundable and can only be purchased before getting to the parks by mail, phone or order form. the only real difference I notice in the tickets are that they are a hard cardboard like paper with a Disney character on the front and no place to sign on the back instead of the decorative plastic credit card type that you sign on the back we opted for the after 2pm passes since our kids are teens and like to sleep late and my DH won't be out of the conference till late afternoon anyway. The information # is 407-566-5600 if you would want to ask them some questions. hope this helps!;)

Thank you for the information and phone number. Can anyone call that number and order the after 2 or after 4 passes? How do they check if you are a conventioneer? Would you mind posting the prices? Thanks so much!

Sorry, the above post was meant to quote Disneypal. Would you please respond Disneypal (or anyone else in the know). Thanks!

2 day hopper for adults $95.45, 3 day hopper $143.67, 4 day hopper $191.90, 5 day hopper $217.02.

One day after 2pm $39.39 and 2 day after 2pm is $69.34.

When you purchase the tickets you have to give the name of your company, the conference name, who is putting it on and where you are staying.

Anyone can call the number but I am pretty sure with needing all of that information you would have to be with a convention. Hope this helps!;)

Thank you very much for your prompt response. I guess I will not be able to avail myself of this option.

These were great! I will say that if you plan on seing the entire park and if the crowds are large this might not be the way to go. Our crowds were very small, the weather copperated and we had done everything before so we were only hitting the high points. We got to the parks at 2 and were out by early evening having done everything we wanted to do. They were a perfect fit for us in time and budget!:D
