Convention Tickets

Yes I read them all, that's why I'm asking. You must be attending a meeting or convention. Yet they will sell to anyone and it does not go on to describe any particular type of meeting or convention. It could be as simple as a meeting or convention you create among your family. (?) So are there real restrictions on this? Anyone have experience with them?

I am subscribing...
I have convention tickets for a trip next year. However, they were purchased through a travel agency. I am now wondering why my tickets are for a convention...hmmm. Does anyone have an idea?

Convention tickets can only be used during conventions and a limited time before or after. If you buy tickets for a time when there is not a convention going on, your tickets won't be valid (according to the terms and conditions). We've used convention tickets before, but only during the convention (which my sister was attending) and a few days after the convention ends.

It looks to me like they'll verify the meeting or convention before they'll actually sell the tickets.

My mother is attending a convention at Disney in February but her convention tickets must be purchased through the conference. Now I am curious about this link.

Reading this it never would have occurred to me that you can go to WDW and say "My family is having a meeting at WDW. We're all going together, that's a meeting. There, you have to sell me these convention tickets at a discount."

Most everything I see about conventions says that the conventioners need to purchase the tickets through the convention planners, not purchase them separately through Disney. If they can purchase them separately they must have to verify that they or someone associated with their party are attending a business meeting or convention. I'm assuming the dates will have to match up with an existing convention that has registered with WDW.

There's also this in the terms and conditions:

If any individual or entity violates or attempts to violate or otherwise not comply with these Terms and Conditions, Disney reserves the right to cancel any Ticket orders made by that individual or entity and/or not to permit that individual or entity to place any further Ticket orders pursuant hereto.
