Convention tickets

Are MD convention tickets the same as regular MD tickets? or are they dated and good for only certain dates? I have a convention to go to 10 days after we get back from vacation for WDW and buying tickets thru the convention website will save me at least 120 bucks!!!
Thanks for any help
 
From my experience usually they are different then the regular tickets. I would read the information carefully.
