Convention Tickets with FP+

My conference is not until October 2015, so I know things can change, but anyone have experience with buying discounted park passes on the convention rate and being able to book FP+? We are going to wind up doing a split stay with CSR (convention hotel) and CR.
 
Yes, my convention is in a couple of weeks at the Dolphin I ordered my tickets, waited about 48 hours and then linked them to MDE.

Made all my FP+ at 60 days no problem.

Just purchased wdw convention discounted tix with less than 2.5 weeks to go. Gasp. I was able to link my tix confirmation number to My Disney Experience a day later and book FP's.

However, watch your cc statement. My card company alerted us to a possible fraud transaction in you guessed it...Florida. Someone bought groceries at WinnDixie with our cc. Long story short, check your statement. Btw- I did alert the wdw convention tix ppl of the problem.
 

I just purchased my convention tix via the website. I got an email confirmation that said I could pick them up at the Will Call window. WHAT?!! The confirm number does not work to link them and the confirm email said nothing about living them. I need to make FP+ in a week, so I am panicking that I should have bought them by calling or bought regular tickets. I have emailed ticket services but have not heard back. Anyone know how this works? I have been resort guest many times but never a convention.
 
:rolleyes1Never mind. In the fine print at the bottom of the page, it says the confirm will work for linking after 72 hours. Blushing, that I panicked first, but GEEZ, that is important info! They could have put it in a more prominent place!

Purchased my convention tickets last Tuesday (convention at the Gaylord in May but staying at Pop Century instead). I was able to link my tickets yesterday and I got all my FP+ booked. Got everything I wanted.

I had to buy 3 separate convention tickets because of the times I am able to get to the park each day. Now I just need to call Disney and have them prioritize the tickets on my account.

Because of the different types of tickets that are offered, and my schedule, I had to get three different tickets and licked them all to my MDE/magic band. So for for the first two days I am there, I can get to the parks around 2pm. So I purchased a 2 day, 1 park per day, after 2pm ticket. Then the following two days I can't get to the parks until around 5pm. So I purchased two 1 park after 4pm tickets. I linked all three tickets to my MDE. But now I need have someone at Disney prioritize them so that when I go the first day, it looks at the after 2pm ticket first instead of looking at the after 4pm ticket and giving me the "red mickey".
 
Will we get MB mailed to us like regular resort ressies?

I think if you are staying on property you get a MB. If you are staying offsite and purchased convention tickets, I was told that they will send you the plastic RDF card type tickets.

Sounds confusing. I hope it all gets in the system correctly. It looked confusing to me too. My DH will do the conference and the rest of us won't. I thought of getting him the partial day tickets but I could not be sure what our schedule would be, etc. in the end, I just got him a regular multi day like the rest of us. It was still a nice savings from the regular non convention tickets. If there were just 1 or 2 of us, I would have done what you did.
 
To prioritize park tickets:

Go the guest Services window OUTSIDE the park gates, the CM's there can easily do this. Just let them know which ticket you want to use that day before you enter a park. Can change daily if you need to. The resort CM's don't have that level of access for the tickets. You can prioritize to a card or a Magic Band.
 
I will be arriving awhile prior to the start of the convention I will be attending. I understand the expiration policy on convention tickets, but is there a "do not use before" date?

I'm panicked. I tried to call the convention line to get my tickets but they closed 2m prior. Tomorrow is my fp day. Should I just get the non convention tickets? If I buy online through convention site will I have to wait 72h??
