I hope I'm asking this in the right place. I'm helping my friend get tickets for her DH for a Domino's Pizza convention that is taking place at Disney's Swan this upcoming week starting on Monday. My friends DH a District Manager and so the owner is sending him down tomorrow but the National Convention doesn't officially start until Monday. We're not sure why he is being sent down early but he has to go and he wants his wife to get his tickets from the Disney Convention Website. My friend is concerned because Disney's Website says:
Tickets are not available for purchase at Walt Disney World® Theme Park ticket windows and are valid for use only on the specific dates of the meeting/convention/wedding. Verification of meeting/convention/wedding participation is required.

Her concern is that the Convention doesn't "officially" kick-off until Monday but he is being sent down two days early. Will he have any issues? Anyone ever have to deal with this before?

TIA for your advice.

Disney, as far as I know, does not regulate the convention tickets. There are several legitimate ticket brokers that sell 3-day park hoppers (before MYW) to the general public (these were convention tickets). I have bought them in the past on a couple of occasions and have used them myself without any problems at the gate. I know other people on the DIS have done so as well. I actually still have 1 day left on my last 3-day park hopper (convention) that I plan on using some day in the future..........

Last year I went to a Cherished Teddy convention and arrived a few days early. All I did is call up the hotel(Coronado),told them which convention I was with, told them how many days worth of tickets I needed and they did the rest. I know I received the convention rate on the hotel both before and after the convention ended(I stayed two days after it ended). I don't recall too much about the tickets except that we had a paper ticket that had characters on them that said 3 day pass on it. (The last two days we resort hopped).
I would call the Swan and Dolphin and see if they can help you.I do recall them saying I received the convention rate on the tickets.
Sorry, I couldn't help more. Good Luck!

If it's an actual Disney convention ticket, you don't have any days left on it. Convention tickets expire 10 days after first use or if unused by 12/31 of the year purchased.

When we went with a convention in January, the website and flyer we were given from Disney said our tickets were good (for the number of days you purchased - ie a 4 day hopper) from 5 days before until 5 days after the dates of the actual convention. When I called and ordered them she told me the same thing, but the ticket itself didn't say this or anything. But I'm guessing it was probably coded somehow in their system to come up that way once scanned. I have a current link to an upcoming convention and it doesn't state that anywhere, just (as stated above) that they are only good for 10 days from first use and expire Dec 30, 2005.

Thank you all for your replys.

Thanks to all of you my friend felt comfortable enough to go ahead and purchase the tickets for her husband and he will be picking them up at the will call desk upon his arrival.
