Ok I just received my contract. Does anyone have any advice before signing it?
I understand everything and agree with everything.
If you have dones this already and have any advice please let me know.

I am so excited that my wedding is actually developing now!! :cheer2:

I just would strongly suggest to read EVERYTHING very very carefully. When we got our contract a lot of things were wrong. One major thing that was wrong with ours was the deposit amount. I would have thought the contract was a standard sheet that they just changed where needed, but the deposit was over 6,000 dollars off what we were originally told. As long as you agree with everything, you should be OK to sign it!! :):) Have fun!

Nikki: I do not have any advice about your contract BUT what I wanted to say was FIRST:
C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S!!!!!

SECOND: March 6th is my birthday. You PICKED a GREAT day!

Hoping you have the most beautiful and wonderful wedding and being in Disney I know it will be MAGICAL!!!

Here is some PIXIE DUST for you and RYAN pixiedust:

The standard deposit is 1,000$; however, on our contract it stated our deposit was 7,500$! I don't know why it appeared on our contract as that, but we got it fixed. That is why I am saying look over everything! :)

As long as you have gone through it with a fine tooth comb and everything in the contract as far as your venues, site fees, outside vendors, charted buses, minumums, is what you have been told by your Sales manager you should be ok to go ahead and sign it.

Congratulations! Now the 'real' planning can begin!

Hi, Nikki, first things first, congratulations, I just wanted to ask you or if anyone else could help us with this, are u having an intimate wedding or a custom? b/c our intimate wedding is Nov.4, 2006 and we have already sent the planning kit and my wedding coordinator told me that she had recieved it, but she didn't tell me anything about a contract. Do intimates get a contract? also she told me that the hotel reservation was our deposit and that we didnt have to pay anything until a month before our wedding. I have been calling her but she hasn't returned our phone call, so now im confused b/c im reading these posts and you guys had a deposit and a contract. Please if any of you could help us with this , it would be very helpful since our coordinator is not returning our phone calls. And the one time she did, she told us the info. that we mentioned above. thank you in advance :tink: pixiedust:

My intimate is on Dec. 18, 2006. We were required to book our room reservation, then call and set the date and then we had to sign a contract and mail with it a $500.00 deposit. ( I think that's the right amount) I don't know if that's the way it always works, but that's what we did!! HTH

Thanks for your help, how far in advance did you recieve your contract and sent out the deposit? The reason why I ask is because we had read this info. on the disney wedding website and called our coordinator b/c this deposit wasn't mentioned to us. She said that all we had to do was book the room and that would be considered our deposit. She said that we didn't have to send a 500.00 deposit and that there was not contract, that the planning kit that we faxed to her was considered our contract. now im worried because i see that a few people have done what you did, so I dont know if she's giving me the wrong info. or not. Im all confused :confused3 , but thanx for the info. :wizard: I called her again and left her a message, lets see if she calls back. I'll ask her again, just in case. thanx again. :tink: pixiedust:

Hfehr1s-My intimate is one day after yours, and I too was required to book our room reservation, and set the date and then too had to sign a contract and Fed ex it with a $500.00 Deposit too.

Tink-I would call your em just to find out or call and ask to talk to the em that's on call for that day and see if they can help you figure it out.

Thank you for all of your adive and good wishes!

I checked the contract for my CUSTOM (to answer a few questions) wedding and the deposite is 1,000. Tink I am not sure how things are done for intimate weddings but I am sure you will have some sort of contract securing your date and venue.

momrek06 Thank you! I sure hope that the 6th will be magical! It helps knowing that good things have already happend on that day!

Thank you all!

I would definitely call the general number and ask to see about your wedding info from another em. I would hate to hear that something was wrong. But hey, if not, ur em might get in trouble. Definitely, check it out. You might just end up to be a lucky bride that's temporarily $500 richer.

For our intimate vow renewal, we did not sign any contract or have to make any deposit and it has been schedule for awhile. Maybe this is a new 2006 thing?

I finally spoke to my EM and she said that its a new thing after we booked our intimate wedding, so we were grandfathered in. We do not have a formal contract and we don't to give a 500.00 deposit, the deposit for the hotel counted for our deposit for the wedding. thanks for the advice from everyone. :tink: pixiedust:
