:confused3 So I am confused... I have given Heidi more than one date and more than one time for Oct/Nov 2008..

When do you think they will let me know which date I get?

Also When I finally get my date they send me a contract right to lock in my date.... ...

OR what is a contract and what happens after that..

I want it at WP and GF...

thanks for your help:goodvibes

We just finished the whole contract process, so I'll give you the timeline and you should have a better gague as to when to expect stuff to happen..... (We have an in-park reception so we were able to get the contract done at 1 year out, you may need to wait til 8 months out for GF as it is one of the convention locations.)

Oct 30, 2006 (16 months before Wedding Date)
Site Visit with SM

Nov 2006 (15 months before Wedding Date)
Sent e-mail to SM with our desired date/locations.
Received e-mail back from SM confirming reciept of request.

Feb 14, 2007 (Exactly 1 year out from our requested date)
Received phone call from SM that our date/location was available.
Received e-mail from SM with additional info needed to draw up the contract (financially responsible persons, complete contact info, guest list worksheet, and room block spreadsheet)

**NOTE: The time between these two steps took a little longer than usual because our date was on the end of Value Season and beginning of Peak Season room rates and the SM had to get it straightened out which rates our guests would be getting. So she requested that we hang on to all the above stuff til Mar 19th to send in.**

Mar 19, 2007 (approx 11 months to go)
Sent in all the above requested info (except the guest list, we were told to hang on to that til the contract was signed and deposit sent in) and received e-mail from SM that it was received and contract will be drawn up.

Apr 5, 2007
Received contract in e-mail format along with a few other files.
Reviewed and signed contract. (It's really long, so take your time to read everything carefully!)
Sent contract and deposit check USPS priority mail to DFTW.

Apr 9, 2007
Phone call from SM that she got the contract and deposit.

Apr 12, 2007
Sent our guest list excel worksheet to SM.

Apr 17, 2007 (approx 10 months to go)
Got USPS certified mail containing signed contract and our AP's :cool1:

Apr 27, 2007
Got phone call from our WP introducing herself and outlining the next steps.
Got A LOT of files via e-mail from WP and her assistant with all the planning pages etc.
We and our guests all got thier Save The Dates in the mail
Received big envelope in mail from SM with extra Save The Date's

Apr 28, 2007
Scheduled appointment with WP for Planning Session and Cake Tasting in Sept (it will be 5 months out from our wedding date).

At the time it seemed like it was taking FOREVER for stuff to happen, but it was a great relieve getting the call from the SM that we got our date/location, and then a few weeks after that EVERYTHING started to happen and move along.

I would expect to get some type of e-mail/phone call that DFTW did get your requested dates/locations by now. But I wouldn't expect to hear anything else til Oct/Nov this year.

I think the previous message clarifies the process, but here's my two cents...

They'll be able to give you confirmation at either one year or eight months out depending on your location. I don't know what happens since you gave them more than one date. Did you tell them a preference?

My understanding of the process is this -- assume that you can book at a year out. On the one year mark, they will send in a request to get your locations. They will hear back within a couple of days if you got that location -- at this time, it will be held for you. For example, we are having our reception at the LS. At the one year mark, they sent the request to Epcot (I'm assuming) and then it was held through the system. Once they get confirmation back, the locations are held. Then, they will draw up and send you your contract and you have a certain amount of days by the time you receive your contract to pay the deposit or else it could be released if someone else wants it.

Of course, this is assuming that you aren't thrown into the lottery. Then, I think the process is a little different and they let you know sooner if you won/lost the lottery and then you give them another date.

Oh I just saw that you want the GF -- then you will be on the eight month timeline.

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much girls.. I am just nervous that I wont be able to get my date.... Well I will see what happens
Thanks again

Not a prob, happy to help.

For us the most stressful part thus far was where you are at right now....the months of silence and no communication from DFTW as you worry about the date being available.....where it seems that 'nothing' is happening but a lot of waiting and family asking repeatedly "well when is the date??".

When you get the phone call from the SM that you got your date, it is SUCH a relief!

You might want to talk to your SM about this because I'm not sure, but, I think if you're doing the GF and the WP, that they might be able to hold the WP for you at 12 months, but you have to wait to sign the contract at 8 months when you can confirm the Grand.

This is the impression I got from our SM when we were thinking about doing the GF, but I'm not totally sure since we ended up doing the LS.

I know that for intimates you can only get the WP 8 months out too. Not sure if thats the same for other wedding packages.

I totally agree that this time is the most stressful. I hated not knowing what my actual date would be!!

I believe the earlier post that said you can hold WP 12 months out is correct but you wont be able to sign a contract until 8 months out b/c of the GF location. I think. I was having a similar situation b/c one of my back up locations was a conference room and I was going to have to wait until 8 months out to reserve it. My SM found a different backup location so I was able to book 12 months out.

Good luck with everything!

I feel your pain too girl! We are just hoping for any day in the first part of August 2008. But, people are constantly asking us for the actual date, and they don't understand why we can't give them one!

Just know you're not the only one frustrated and impatient! Good Luck to you...I just have a feeling you'll get your date. Pixie dust to you!
