I just bought BWV . If me and someone else is on the contract can I buy an add on in my name only or do all addons have to have same owners?

I hope I asked this in a not so meesed up way. Thanks for your help

All add-on contracts are in the same names as the original contract. You can buy a "new" contract of 150 points or more in a different name. At least I think that is the way it works.

I think both owners would be on the contract, if the original contract had more than one owner. (HOpe that is not confusing). I think to have a contract in your name only, you would have to have a different contract number. I know one of my numbers is in mine and my husband's name, but my other one (completely different contract number, use year, and resort) is in my name only.

You could buy the points then change them over to your name only. You'd need a new deed and closing. As noted, you could buy 150 points and have them titled differently.

That is my situation, and the answer when I was buying add ons is that if they are under 150 points, they must have both names. If either member decides to buy 150 points separately, the 150 points would become a new membership with a separate member ID.

I believe the add on has a different contract number, so it might be possible. Only certain way to find out is ask DVC.

Many of us have already asked DVC, see the answers above which are based on aggregate information and real life experiences. One thing to note is that it's not uncommon to ask DVC AND get the wrong answer depending on who you talk to.
