We have decided to buy new from Disney at BLT. I am waiting for our Guide to call today and get the ball rolling. I have a couple of questions...

We are financing through DVC (I know why I shouldn't but fo rnow it works for us!),
-what kind of documentation will they require? proof of income, etc?
-how long does it take to get approval?
-how long before we are in the system and I can make a reservation? (we are planning to use our developer pts in May at SSR and I am worried about availability)

Do people list kids on the contract? If not on contract can you get member discounts (such as AP's) for them?

Do the names on the financing agreement have to be the same as the DVC contract? If we had to put my son on the contract obviously he wouldn't have to be on the financing agreement right? Maybe just answered my own question!

Minor children can not be put on a deed in the State of Florida. If he is not a minor and was to be listed on the deed, I suspect that Disney would also require him to be on the loan.

For family members not on the deed, you can purchase them a DVC discounted AP if they reside in the same house. Adults would all have to have government issued ids with the same address. Children are exempt from the id requirement.

Disney's rules and procedures for financing changed after the credit collapse and it now takes longer to qualify. I was told that over 200 of the first 1000 BLT buyers where denied credit and didn't purchase. That's why the Founder count kept changing.

Ugh! So frustrating finally ready and our guide is off until the 15th of January!!

You don't need to wait until your guide returns; call and tell them you want to do it now and another will handle for you.

JMHO, if you are planning on buying in at BLT for 160 points I wouldn't wait on it until Jan 15 - you are risking that on Jan 15 2009 that 160 pt minimum may, in fact, increase to 200 points - - this increase was indicated by DVC in a mailing they sent out couple weeks ago & it was verbally told to many by guides too, however, in past week or two it has also been told to some that minimum BLT buy-in will not increase; that conflicting info would concern me but if your plans are to purchase 200 points or more anyway then it wouldn't impact you.

Best wishes to you :goodvibes
