Any new info about continuing problems with the HM?

We just go back, and experienced numerous stoppages during our rides. Four or five each ride. Various HM CMs comfirmed (in characater, lol) that this has been typical lately, and it was hinted that they were 'nursing' it along.

Also - was it me (and it could be), or is the lighting turned waaaay down? I could barely see some of the elements in there this trip!

A lot of the stops on HM are due to guests with special needs. Some guests can't just hop into the doombuggies, thus they have to do a "ride stop" to properly board the guests.

This includes guests in wheelchairs, and guests with other special needs.

The thing that really bugged me last fall was the bad sound quality in the Doom Buggies. I could hardly understand lots of the dialog, what with all the scratchiness, hissing, and background noise. Hope they can get a nice newly refurbushed soundtrack soon.

HM blew out it's speedway on the loadramp and the motor that runs it over the summer. Instead of shutting the ride down they ran it in slow mode which screws up the soundtrack and FX.
A couple months ago, they finally got a new motor and belt (they had patched the old one which promptly rebroke.) they installed the motor and it promptly broke. So now, they running the new belt with the old motor fixed up with spit and gum and praying it last.

Clearly, the Show is not all it should be.

On the plus side, DisneyLAND's haunted mansion is doing awesome.

That about sums it up. I totally forgot about the poor sound. Our stops were definitely breakdowns. There were two 15 minute ones alone while we were waiting to board. And the CMs looked quite anxious until it restarted.

I hope they can get it all together soon. I hate seeing my beloved HM suffer...

We were there before Christmas (ohmygosh!. . . I said Christmas!) and the soundtrack were non-existant, both dialogue and music. Very, very disappointing as HM is one of my favorites. It was as if we were watching it on TV with the sound off. Terrible.

I have also noticed, and this may have been covered here and I missed it, that through the years the volume of the ride has greatly diminished. . . it used to be so loud by the time you reached the graveyard and there was so much going on, you hardly knew were to look to see it all. I have been disappointed greatly in the decisions to 'soften' this classic ride, and I wish (upon a star. . .) that the decision-makers would return to the days of yore. It was much better then.

The sound was sure working on the 8th; I thought I'd go deaf before I picked up my hitchhiker!!!

I hope it gets fixed by the first week of June...It's one of my favorite rides...

was on it also at Christmastime, and it stopped by the crystal ball room. We sat for bit....then its started to move again. Was too long a stop to be handicapped boarding....shame, it need to be reworked....Haven't been to Disneyland CA, in awhile though...glad to hear the equipment there is up and working.....

Occasionally we ride a Doombuggy where the speakers need replacing. But I don't think it is the sound track itsself, as the next time we rode it, the sound is fine. The few times I have been on when it stops I would gues sto be for disabled access. :confused3 The stops we experienced have been brief.
we have noticed the lights down lower for months, and like it better that way. Same with AK Dinosaur ride.
