Contingency Plan if waitlist at VGC doesn't come through?

We are booked at VGC for Jan 26-30 in a studio. I also have a studio booked for my cousin and his family who are traveling with us, but the last night is waitlisted since there was no availability when I called in for theirs. Assuming that last night doesn't come through, what contingency plan should I make? I thought about moving them to the resort side, but the cheapest available room was $415! Ouch! We could cancel the whole thing at 32 days out if nothing comes through and move off-site, but that would be a big let-down at this point. And I can't really see getting any more excited about the other on-site resorts either. Any suggestions?

My action plan for the situation you've described:

• Use points or cash for either Disney's Paradise Pier or Disneyland Hotel if the costs seem "in line."
• If not Paradise Pier or Disneyland Hotel, book Howard Johnsons across the street. (Really, it is a local's favorite.)
• If not any of the above, turn to Hotwire/PriceLine and hope for a "deal" that overcomes all other objections.

I'm booked in a studio for the 25th and 26th and on a waitlist for the 27th, 28th and 29th. In case he waitlist doesn't come through, I am booked on cash at DLH for the 3 nights that I need. I"d prefer not having to move, but we will if we have to.

Update: I switched from DLH to GCH so we don't have to change locations completely if our waitlist doesn't come through. There are big discounts in January at the Disneyland hotels that were just announced. Check them out!
