I have been checking Continental AirFares just to get an idea of what fares will be like. I need air for Nov. 07 (from Newark NJ to MC0, Jersey week) and right now they go up to Oct 28. It seems like the weekend airfares are high -like around $408, for an am flight out and afternoon return flight. That seems really high for non holiday weeks (Oct 13 or Oct 20). I also noticed that the first day the flight is released, the price is much higher, and then in the evening or next day the fare will come down. But the weekend fares still seem way too high. Does anyone have any insight about Continental and getting a low fare?

EWR to MCO during Jersey week on CO are historically high, period. You might be better off using SW or AS out of PHL, jet Blue out of JFK, or even Spirit out of AC.

I think it's just too early to book Nov '07. I would keep looking at it, but I would not pay over $230 RT, and would only pay that for the exact flights I wanted. You should check other airlines as well, Spirit out of AC, Jet Blue, and of course Southwest out of PHL.

We went down for Jersey week this year and ended up flying JetBlue out of JFK. When they opened the fares, EWR was significantly higher than JFK and never came down. We paid $217/rt out of JFK. Cont was at $600 when we booked and EWR was over $400. At the time of flying, I think that they were closer to $500 all the way around.

We will also be flying for Jersey week next year but we'll be taking a cruise so we'll fly either into Ft Lauderdale (on JetBlue) or Miami (on Cont.). I think those fares might be a bit better although who can tell. I prefer JetBlue to Continental any day of the week anyway.

This year we flew on Jet Blue during Jersey Week and paid $457 for Jet Blue out of Newark(booked the air as soon as JetBlue released it). I would really prefer Jet Blue, but if I could get Continental from Newark (don't want to fly out of New York) for a more reasonble rate, than would fly Continental. I was hoping if I got airfare for Continental as soon as it was released it would be lower.
