We are staying Nov. 10-18. *We have a garden view wing, but are considering staying another night. *If we would change to a standard view room, we could stay another night for a slightly cheaper price. *Will we be disapointed, does the view matter? * Should we stick the garden view room? * We can swing the garden view, but really don't want a pool view.
Thanks

Garden views are often very nice. We've had wonderful views looking out over Bay Lake and lovely flowers and topiaries.

Parking lot view is kind of lame, IMHO. But, having said that, we had that on one trip and were out of the room so much it did not matter as much as I would have thought. We've never had a pool view, though.

But doesn't the parking lot view get you a view of MK? and Wishes? I read that it does but I would love to know for sure.

I *think* when people refer to parking lot view at the Contemporary theyre talking about the Tower room facing MK. If I have a view of MK, I doubt a parking lot below me is going to really grab much of my attention...:p

I don't know if all parking lot views are lame. We just stayed there early June and got the North Garden wing, parking lot view. From our patio, yes I could see the parking lot, but I also had a view of the monorails, space mountain, and Cinderella's Castle off to the distance.

In fact, one night we just sat outside on our patio chairs and watched the fireworks from our room. So, I wouldn't say the view was lame.

Thanks, that is exactly what I was asking about, I think those are the "standard" rooms. Do you remember the room number? I have a map that I use to compare the views.

Our room was 7183, first floor just on the bend.

This is why I was asking. It seems silly to pay for a garden view , if this is a standard view. Did you request a first floor room? We are not requesting since we will be arriving early (10am) and would be happy with any room they could get us into that early. Since DH will be driving all night a room to nap in would be great.

I didn't put any requests in on our reservation other than non-smoking room. This is a standard room, we got it with our AP discount.

When we checked-in (7:30am), all we asked was to be put in a room closest to the lobby/Fun & Food Center, and if possible first floor. Didn't ask anything else. Room 7183 was the one we got, it was less than a minute walk to the lobby - I couldn't have asked for a better room.

Our room was big, spacious, clean, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom very clean, and the room was cleaned by 2pm each day. The air conditioning was good and cold (the windows fogged up each morning) and when I asked housekeeping for extra sheets, pillows and towels, they were there in less than an hour.

I have to say, I was never a big fan of CR before, but I'm hooked now. Just the fact that I can walk to MK and back was a big plus for me.
