I need some advice. My husband and I really want to buy into Kingdom Towers (I think that is the name of it). Would it be best to buy some points from resale to become members, so we get first dibs? Or to wait until it come to the public (I have just heard they may go fast).

Thanks!!

I would get a small resale contract to get your feet wet, then start saving for the BLT Bay Lake Tower (as it will be known this week). That way you don't have to buy 160 points at that time and may be able to get a better deal by the time they are available to the public. There will likely be no incentives when they are 1st available.

And there is no guarantee that BLT will even be a DVC resort.

I would not buy a resale contract at another resort just to get you a better shot at buying CRV. The will be tons of points in the tower - plently will be available for the general public. And, absolutely worst case scernario, they will always be on the resale market.

Note that when Disney opened AKV, the initial offer to exisitng DVC members was decent, but not as good as one they later offered to everybody. I expect the same at the Contemporary - the intial offer to DVC members won't be a super fantastic deal.

Now, buying a small resale contract may be a good idea for other reasons. But if you are just doing it for "dibs" - I woudn't bother.

Yes, this is correct. As of now, there has been no official announcement from Disney that this will be a DVC resort. Time will tell....as the others posted, I would not make my decision to purchase DVC based upon wanting to own at this possible future site.

With some humor, the above comments should almost be put in a sticky.

All joking aside, buy into DVC for what you can use now. Do not buy into DVC based on any rumor, hearsay, or speculation.
