Contemporary tower in June?

Just wondering how many out there have booked the Contemporary in the Tower for this June 2004? We were thinking of going for just a weekend trip to try it out but as of right now, the price per night is just crazy $370 per night tower plus tax so it came to like $412 per night and I'm just not willing to spend over $800 for a 2 night stay. As of right now Codes for June have not come out yet as most of you know.

So I guess I'm kind of asking for some advice here -- do I book it anyway and when a code comes out just add it to the ressie? Or do I wait to see if a code comes out first and then try to book it? I'm afraid to not book for fear of there being no availibility in the tower at that time of year. But if I book now, I'll need to send in $412 dollars as a one night deposit and what if I decide to cancel and stay at a different resort if a code doesn't end up coming out after having paid that much for the deposit?

We have no interest in staying in the Garden wings btw or staying at a different resort (unless of course we can't get a discount code ), we have tried many of the WDW resorts and this is one we've always wanted to try and is next on our list

Anyway, anyone out there book already for June at the Contemporary? Was your rate any lower? Any advice is appreciated. TIA

I don't want to be a prophet of doom or anything, but we LOVE the CR tower and I have tried for at least the last 4 years to get a discounted room there anytime during the first half of June and have not had any success.

If you are going later in the month you might have better luck...I don't know because we always go early in June.

Seems ABC has a huge gathering for all of their affilate stations and brings in the network celebs during one of those weeks. The CR is their headquarters for that and who knows what else goes on, but while we have always managed substantial AP discounts at one of the deluxe resorts, I have never been able to find any availability during that time in the tower.

Have you tried asking for a AAA rate? I have 2 nights booked at CR tower July 10-12. Rack was $335 a night plus tax. With AAA it's $284 plus tax. My 2 nights come to $635, so far. I'm COUNTING on a code to get the price down, and I know it'll happen!

I realize you're planning for early June, which is regular season, and my trip is considered value (go figure), but don't lose hope for a discount. Call often and ask. I think you did the right thing booking early. The tower rooms go fast.

I just booked for Sept, $480 per night. No AAA rate available.

I, too, am hoping codes will come out.

We don't have AAA

We do have AP's and are FL residents though. I guess we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed - thanks for all the info. so far though.
