How long will it take on the Monorail to get from Contemporary to Epcot? I know we have to change at the TTC but I've never done the monorail to Epcot so I don't have any idea how long it would take. Thanks!

Lets see...the next stop from Contemporary is the transportation center. Then you have to walk to other tram. I would say the ride is about 5 mins if that. If you are lucky and there is no wait 10-15 mins tops.

I would plan on a minimum of 30 minutes from the CR to Epcot security.

First, you'll have to wait for a TTC monorail at the CR. The ride to the TTC from the CR is only about 1-2 minutes. Then you'll need to disembark and go up the ramp to the Epcot monorail and wait for the next one. The trip from the TTC to Epcot is about 10 minutes. Then you'll need to go through security and the ticket turnstile before you're actually inside Epcot.

If you are asking because you need to be there at a specific time, I would agree that you should give yourself 30. In actual practice, though, you'll find at times that it can take much less. 20 minutes from the time you get to the monorail stop at CR would not be unrealistic, and if you happen to time it right, you might even see times of 15 minutes or so.

CR to Epcot in 15 minutes would only be possible if you are only counting the time to get from the monorail station at the CR to the monorail station at Epcot and then only if there is no wait for the monorail at the CR or TTC stations.

Once you factor in wait times at the CR station, walking from the resort monorail to the Epcot monorail (which requires a walk down one ramp, around the station and then back up another ramp), waiting for the Epcot monorail and the walk from the Epcot monorail station to the Epcot entrance (including some time to get through security), 30 minutes of total travel time is about the best you can expect.

Took us about 30 minutes last year from the Contemporary Monorail to the Epcot gate. Could've been 25, but definitely plan on 30! This was with very short stops - I've been on monorails that sit there for over 20 minutes (waiting to fill up, I guess), so it probably depends on the time of day.

On our last trip we did the trip twice a day for a couple of days. Each time it took 30-40 minutes to get there and 35-45 to get back. This was room time to Epcot gate. It's definitely a haul doing the double monorail thing. We also had a double stroller so that's probably why it took us 5-10 minutes longer. As people have mentioned, you often have to wait a bit for both monorails. If you get lucky and get both right away I can see making it in 20 but that's getting really lucky.

I didn't know you could take the bus from Contemporary.

Is there a bus from Contemporary to EC? Or would you walk to MK buses and take one from there? Could that ever really be faster than monorail?

None of the monorail resorts offer bus transportation to Epcot. The most direct route is to take the monorail to the TTC (or walking to the TTC from the Poly) and switching to the Epcot monorail.
