Contemporary Tennis Center closing, is DVC next?

Has anyone heard this? It is rumored that WDW recently announced that the tennis center at the Contemporary Resort will be closing in July 2006. The DVC resort will be built next to the north garden wing at the site of the tennis center.

Actually the rumor is the North Wing will be torn down and replaced with 4 or 5 story DVC building. I am sure that they would also need the area where the Tennis Center is for parking etc.

Only time will tell.

not to sound rude, but in my 22 years of traveling to WDW, and staying 2 the CR most of the time i have never seen anyone on those courts. Maybe just i have never noticed, but i;ve never seen anyone there. But i also usualy go in the off season

I thought they refurbished the south wing leaving the north alone.

Only time will tell.

Actually it is rumored that both the tennis club and the north wing will be demolished for DVC. The tennis courts and GF will now be used for the tennis lessons.

The South Wing and the Tower are currently undergoing refurbishment. No work or announcement has been made regarding the North Wing.

Could they put the quiet pool on top of the DVC building? I think that would be a great place to watch MK and Wishes. I thought I heard that DL had one hotel with the pool on top. Would save space also.

The difference is WDW has no reason to save space, as they have a ton.

It is a real shame since my DS took lessons there with the new pro last December and had a great time. He and my DH were both looking forward to lessons there on our next trip. My DS had a awesome lesson and Michael gave my DH some drills and things to do with my DS to help him. It was well worth the $50, which is about what we pay here for private lessons. Hopefully, they will move Michael and the lessons to the GF or somewhere else.
