We have a Garden Wing, Garden View room for our Sept 7-16 trip. If I was to put in a room request, what room numbers in the Garden wing are designated as "garden view" rooms?

Garden View is a bookable category so you don't have to request a room that has a Garden View.

Right, I already have a garden view but can I request a room somewhere within a specific range of garden view rooms? Can I request a top floor, etc?

Sure. Just call and add any room requests you want. Just list them in order of preference.

It's best to describe what you want instead of requesting specific room numbers.

Requesting specific room numbers is never recommended. The room assigner does not know what about that room appeals to you. More generic requests that describe what appeals to you is a better strategy. For example: near elevator, higher floor etc.

What if I asked for top floor within, say #5320 - #5340? Would that be generic enough? We don't really need a balcony and we would prefer top floor so we don't have a herd of elephants over top of us.

Is there much of a difference with a room facing the pool area vs. facing the canal/water noise-wise?

I would request "top floor" and leave room numbers out.

We haven't found any real difference in noise between the two.

What is it that you like about the rooms #5320 -#5340?

Nothing actually. Just using an example. I really don't care too much about the view since we don't spend a whole lot of time at the resort.

I just didn't know about room numbers and if it made that much difference. I guess if I say 'top floor' , that should be enough. I've never stayed in the garden wing before and wasn't sure if there was a better block of rooms to request over another.

OK. Then I would simply request top floor. Adding a range of room number may even make it more difficult to get your request granted in some cases. Personally, I would like to be in a room convenient to the tower, so I would also request 'close to the Tower'. You could try to look up the numbers of the rooms that would be close to the tower, but it seems to be the prevailing wisdom around here that it is better to simply work the request as I did above.

So, I would request: "Top floor, as close as possible to the Tower".

Good luck!

Pink arrow indicates Standard View room area. All other areas are Garden View:

None of the Garden Wing rooms have balconies. Rooms 6(1/2/3)01-6(1/2/3)0 face toward Bay Lake.

So could a "garden view" room actually face Bay Lake?

Yes. As noted right above your post, GV rooms are everywhere except where I placed the pink arrow. They can face toward the pool, Bay Lake or canal.

Any advantages/disadvantages to facing Bay Lake vs the canal?
