Contemporary Resort Villas Views: Is this going to be a headache?

of course the big complaint of guests will get even worst - there is no place to park......

I was wondering about the possibility of a parking garage. It just seems that parking will really be near impossible with such a large DVC. I haven't read all the threads - is there an estimate of how many units we are talking about here?

Maybe the parking will be at a special section of the TTC and you just monorail over to the resort! :confused3

Great Thread!!

I love reading about our new home resort!!!

I also wanted to weigh in on the Wishes debate...every night except for special events...couldn't do without it!!

if you need help with your luggage or grocery - then bell services will be glad to help you. you would like all the shared DVC resorts - check in at the front desk of the Cont, where if you need bell services you tell them then.

I wonder if there would be a front desk in the DVC building as well. I know there is not at VWL and BCV, but this building is much larger than those and I think the number of units would warrant a separate front desk. I know this means higher dues but it would seem to make sense.

dvc says they won't do 2 points structures for the same DVC again. this is only for BWV - never again.

although Disney has changed it mind....

I happen to like the Bay Lake side - you can see the EWP from that side.... It happens every night. Wishes doesn't.

Illiuinations is an every night thing.

besides the Cont is so close - when we had a MK view - the fireworks were so LOUD. I preferred the Bay side - mother of course preferred the MK side.

What is 'EWP' ... ? :confused3

agree w/ two categories... and support two more points for "better" view, not that I want to pay more.... just that we all seem to agree that the view is a "premium" on that side, so to make it fair to those on the other side (sooner or later it will happen to you), then you said be charged less points.

Fees may not be more... there are a lot of economies of scale you get from a a large single building structure. I wouldn't be quick to conclude.
My question on fees is: will WDW try to pass Monorail main. costs to the resort... that could increase the fees.

I hope not ... would make for unloading/loading nightmares imo ... :(

I'm not sure what the special attraction is with the CR. It seems that there is sooo... much anticipation about the posibilities of DVC there. We have never stayed there because for us it just seems like a huge CONCRETE structure. Is it the monorail...?? I just don't know. :confused3

How about a MK Fireworks viewing area built into the resort? If you don't have the view, maybe a balcony or other gathering area could be designed.
Of course, you need to be a DVC member staying at CRV to attend.

I am sure Disney will plan for the parking situation, I mean they have a multi level parking garage under MGM, I am sure they can handle this.

I think that has a lot to do with it ... Plus the large game room (nothing like DQ), access to Bay Lake with Launches to WL and FW ... not to mention Chef Mickeys and other Great Restaurants. It's really in a good spot imo. ;)

They tried that with SSR ... but then the Fireworks show that it was supposed to overlook was cancelled or something I think? IIRC, someone mentioned that the Fireworks Pavillion at SSR is somewhat ... well ... worthless now ... :(

I agree ... imo, they handled VWL and BWV/BCV fine ...

All in all though, I prefer the 'Park Outside Your Door' Villas a little more than the 'Hotel-ish' ones ... but it's nice to have options for when you're in the mood for something different. ;)

I think it should be a category, not a request.

I agree with this. I think all categories should be the same number of points though. I know it works at BWV...but I thought DVC didn't want to do that again.

Having a bay lake view category or MK view category would give owners the 11 month advantage just like BWV owners have for BRDWLK view and STANDARD view. Plus, it would cut down on members demanding bay lake/MK view at check-in the way I've heard it was at BWV (before boardwalk view became a seperate booking category). What a headache those CM's must have had. :sad2:

love it - only at the Cont is the parking lot view more valued than a lake view....

the MK is on the parking lot side of the resort.

Yup, castle/fireworks trumps parking lot so the view is more desirable.

I would prefer the lake - the one outside of the BoardWalk!
