Contemporary Resort Upgrades

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone had any information regarding getting upgrades. We have a 6 night stay booked at the Contemporary and we are currently set to stay in a Hospitality Suite in the Garden Wing. I am completely fine with this as it's a beautiful room and we just need space being that there will be 8 of us! However, I have been in touch with my travel agent and she "I know" that I will get upgraded. She was on the phone with Disney yesterday but they couldn't do it over the phone.

Has anyone ever booked a Hospitality Suite and been upgraded further? Since there are 8 of us, do you think we have a chance of getting a P or VP suite? Will they give us adjoining rooms to split the party up because of our size? I don't want to get my family excited about an even bigger upgrade but I am busting a gut thinking we might get a super awesome upgrade. I'd love to hear any experiences anyone may have had with this.

Also, I have already checked in as we are within the 60 day window- will this help? We are getting to the hotel super early the day of check in since we have reservations for breakfast at Chef Mickeys. What can I do on my end to make something like this actually happen for us?

I was upgraded once at CR. we were booked in the deluxe GV room. There are only 3 on property and they were being worked on that week(that section was closed off and they were window washing). We got upgraded to a std room in the atrium club. We lost our king bed but gained the lounge.

Unless there are issues with your room I would not get your hopes up just yet.

But, it is fun to dream! Good luck!

Don't be so gull-la-bull. Upgrades are akin to having your specific room request honored. Both can happen and it is a MAGIC MOMENT if it does, but I have never read or heard that you can bet your life on it or throw a Donald temper tantrum to force it. If there were ways to force the mouse gods to bend in your favor, EVERYONE would be using the techniques. It would be seen from the billboards along I-75 in Georgia and printed on your airline barf bags. Book the best room you want and carry a 4 leaf clover. Ask your agent if you can borrow hers.

As other PP's have said, I wouldn't get your hopes up. If you would rather have a different room/suite/rooms or even a 2-bedroom at BLT, I would book what you want and not wait for or expect an upgrade.

We've got 4 adults, a 8 and 6 YO and 2 under 3. I hope that will give us a little flexibility. I'll come back and post after and let you know what happened.

We just got a call from Disney that they were renovating the room where we were staying & upgraded us. We rec'd a call from someone @ WDW..she explained the whole thing. Maybe something similar has happened to you.. I don't want to get your hopes up, but I certainly hate the speech-Book what you can afford, the room you want & expect that & nothing further!
Sounds like your TA just got you excited & your wheels are turning! Lol.. I completely understand. Maybe she does know something that we don't.

The question is if the rooms you want are already reserved for your dates. Maybe your TA can see that online. Even if they are available, there's no way to know who they will pick to be upgraded, if anyone.
